Chapter 15

At the shady tree in the middle of the lake, Fluttershy looked up at Princess Celestia as she said "They're going to kill him at sunrise, Grandmother Princess Celestia." "You have to stop them." Princess Celestia said. Fluttershy shook her head, and said "I can't." "Young mare, remember your dream." Princess Celestia said. "I was wrong, Grandmother Princess Celestia!" Fluttershy said. "I followed the wrong path!" She sighed sadly, and said "I feel so lost." Angel thought for a minute, and went into the hollow tree, and started to dig around for something while Winona sat next to Fluttershy, and tried her best to comfort her. Angel then found what he was looking for, and he went up to Fluttershy as he gave it to her. She looked at it as she said "The compass." When she spun it around, the arrow inside it spun with it as she said "Spinning arrow." "It's the arrow from your dream!" Princess Celestia said as the wind started to blow. Fluttershy smiled as she said "I was right! It was pointing to him!" Suddenly, the sunlight hit her face, and she looked to her right as she said "Sunrise!" "It's not too late, young mare!" Princess Celestia said. "Let the spirits of the earth guide you!" The compass pointed Fluttershy in the right direction as Princess Celestia said "You know your path, mare. Now, follow it!"

As the sunrise quickly approached, Prince Blueblood led the charge as he said "Let's go, everypony!" At the Ponyville village, Shining Armor was looking at the sunrise as he said "Bring out the prisoner!" As the pony warriors began to drag Butterscotch, they began to march towards the cliff. Fluttershy, along with Angel, Twilight Sparkle, Winona, and the other animals ran as fast as they could to stop the war. Shining Armor, and the pony warriors arrived at the cliff as they placed Butterscotch on the edge as Prince Blueblood, and the pony settlers arrived on the scene. Shining Armor grabbed his weapon, and prepared to strike, but Fluttershy stopped him as she held onto Butterscotch, and said "NO!" Shining Armor stopped himself as his daughter said "If you kill him, you'll have to kill me too!" "Daughter, stand back!" Shining Armor said. "I won't!" Fluttershy said. "I love him, father!" The pony warriors, and the pony settlers stared in awe as Fluttershy said "Look around you! This is where the path of hatred has brought us!" She hugged Butterscotch as she said "This is the path I choose, father! What will yours be?!"

Just then, the wind blew in Shining Armor's face as if Glimmer Shield was speaking to him, telling him that Fluttershy chose the right path to take, and that he should do the same. Then, he held his weapon up high with his magic as he said "My daughter speaks with wisdom beyond her years. We've all come here with anger in our hearts, but she comes with courage and understanding." Fluttershy smiled as her father said "From this day forward, if there is to be more killing, it won't start with me." He looked at one of the pony warriors, and said "Release him." He obeyed, and released Butterscotch from the ropes holding onto him, and he and Fluttershy shared a tender embrace. Seeing the opportunity to attack, Prince Blueblood said "Now's our chance! Fire!" "No!" Dusk Shine said. "What?!" Prince Blueblood asked. "They let him go!" Dusk Shine said.

"They don't want to fight." Elusive said. "It's a trick, don't ypu see?!" Prince Blueblood asked. "Fire!" When they still refused to fire, Prince Blueblood snapped with rage as he took Dusk Shine's gun from him as he said "Fine! I'll settle this myself!" When Butterscotch looked down the cliff to see Prince Blueblood aiming for Shining Armor, he gasped, and shoved the Ponyville chief out of the way as he said "NO!" Prince Blueblood fired, and Butterscotch got hit in the wing as Dusk Shine said "BUTTERSCOTCH!" Fluttershy gasped in shock as Butterscotch fell down, and she rushed to his side to help him. Prince Blueblood gasped in shock as Dusk Shine, Sunset Glare, Elusive, and the rest of the pony settlers glared at him as Dusk Shine said "You shot him!" "He stepped right-right into it! It's his own fault!" Then, they all turned against him as Elusive said "Butterscotch was right all along!" "We never should have listened to you!" Sunset Glare said. "Get the gun!" Elusive said as he, and the other pony settlers jumped on Prince Blueblood who struggled, and said "Traitors! Release me at once! I say, how dare you!" Dusk Shine took the gun away from Prince Blueblood as he said "Put him in chains!" As Prince Blueblood struggled some more, he said "I'll see you all hanged for this!" "And gag him as well!" Dusk Shine said as the pony settlers dragged Prince Blueblood away, and he rushed to help out the wounded Butterscotch.
