'Surprise,' yelled Will, as he removed his hands away from Kat's eyes.
Kat smiled as she regained her sight, 'Oh my goodness, look at this.'
Will had placed two yoga mats on their lounge floor, and he'd drowned the ground in rose petals.
'Since you've started to feel little cramps, I figured we could do some mindfulness?' he suggested.
Kat laughed, 'You're too cute.'
'Now, I've paid for this 30 minute breathing class with an online instructor who is apparently really good,' said Will, while searching through his iPad. He placed it in front of them and pressed start.
Kat squealed as the video begun, 'Oh I am so excited for this.'
The woman on the screen started speaking, and a soft song started playing in the background. 'We're going to begin with a deep breathing exercise,' she begun. 'Sit upright with your legs folded and your back straight. Inhale through your nose and exhale out of your mouth.'
The pair did as they were told and followed the instructions.
'You'll know your breathing deeply when your stomach lifts up, instead of your chest,' the woman whispered.
By the end of the session Kat was feeling refreshed and relaxed. Why didn't I think of doing that sooner, Kat thought, as she put on her jumper. 'That was amazing, Will.'
Will laughed, 'I have to agree. That was the most relaxing thing I've ever done.'
Kat held Will's cheeks and kissed him. 'Thank you for always coming up with the most amazing surprises.'
'I love you,' he replied, between soft, gentle kisses.
Kat started to tear up. 'Very soon, our little family of two will become a family of three.'
'I absolutely cannot wait,' Will smiled, wrapping one hand around Kat's waist and placing the other on her belly. 'Our little girl is nearly here.'
'You know, I still remember finding out about all of this,' whispered Kat. 'You were in England and I was so, so scared. But then I remember telling you, and seeing your face light up with delight had never made me so happy,' she cried. 'I love you, Will, more than words can possibly say. You give me this feeling that cannot be explained, and I am so ready for the next chapter of our life to begin.'
Will held her cheek and rubbed his thumb against her skin to wipe away her tear. 'Me too, my lovely wife to be.'
Kat closed her eyes and took her mind back to the day of her baby shower. Not only did she find out she was having a girl that day, Will had got down on one knee and popped the question. That was currently the best day she'd experienced.
'Okay, I'm going to quickly pop downstairs to the cafe and pick up some food. What do you want?' she smiled.
'One of those scones please. The ones we bought for the baby shower.'
Kat giggled, 'One scone coming right up. Literally, since we live in an apartment and have to go up in an elevator.'
This put Will in a whirl. 'I thought you just used puns? Now you're telling jokes as well?' he laughed.
'Of course, I have many more up my sleeve.' Kat pulled her sleeve up and tiny pieces of paper with knock-knock jokes on them poured onto the floor.
'How long having you been planning this for?'
'Being pregnant means I have a lot of time on my hands,' she laughed, balancing her watch on the knuckles of her hands.
