It had been five months since Grace was welcomed into the world. Kat and Will still remembered holding her warm body in their arms for the first time. The soft sprouts of light hair poking out on the top of her scalp. The peaceful cry coming from her mouth as she realised she was out of the womb and into the place we call, Earth.
Of course, that was five months ago.
The loud screams of hunger suddenly filled Emeraude's house at six in the morning. Em hopped out of her bed and slid on her slippers. She walked into the next bedroom and found Grace lying in her crib, with dry eyes.
'How can one scream so loudly but not have any tears?' she asked as she held Grace. She fed her the bottle and slowly calmed her back to sleep.
It was currently the morning of Will and Kat's wedding, so Em had offered to take care of Grace for the night. However, she had no idea that Grace's feeding cycle was at 6 AM.
'Time for another rest, darling. Aunty Em has to go to sleep for a few more hours so that she doesn't have dark circles under her eyes for the wedding photos.' Em gently placed Grace back into the crib and hurried back to her own bed.
Kat opened her eyes to see the beautiful view out of the window. Will's arm was wrapped around her bare back, and he lay awake as well.
'Today's the day, my beautiful love,' he whispered, stroking her shoulder with the side of his hand.
Kat kissed his arm. 'You have no idea how excited I am.'
'I also must say, Emeraude is wonderful for taking Grace for the night. I had such a lovely sleep,' chuckled Will.
'I hope our little girl didn't keep her up.'
By eleven o'clock, Kat had arrived at Em's house to get ready, and Will had gone to get ready at the hotel, Matt, was staying in.
Kat was greeted at the front door by Em, who was holding Grace with her left arm.
'Oh, good morning my beautiful baby,' smiled Kat, while reaching to grab her daughter. She gave Grace a kiss on the cheek and hugged Em. 'Thank you so much, I hope she wasn't too much of a handful.'
Em laughed and lightly squeezed Grace's cheek, 'She was an angel. Weren't you, cutie?'
Grace smiled with her empty gum and made a squeal with her mouth.
'Her personality is just amazing,' Em grinned. 'Feel free to drop her off anytime!'
The three girls made their way into Em's lounge, that had been converted into a large dressing room, and Grace was placed into a highchair.
'The makeup artist and hairdresser will be here any second,' squealed Em, projecting excitement into her voice.
Kat smiled, 'I can't wait.' She walked over to a large cover bag, which was hanging up on a rack, and unzipped it. A gorgeous white dress with lace around the arms revealed itself, and Kat covered her mouth. 'I know I've tried it on before, but it's beauty still gets me every time.'
'I love it too,' agreed Em.
The afternoon came around, and Kat, Em and the other bridesmaids were all dressed in silk, heels and hair extensions.
Kat stood in front of an elongated mirror and took a look at herself wearing the dress. She felt the soft silk brush against her thighs, and her feet slipped nicely into her clear, white shoes. Her hair was curled, and a silver headband was placed on the side of her head, while white flowers were placed between her extensions.
