*real life experience
CRASH! A tree had fallen down from the thunder that struck it. It turned to ash.
It was 2 am and nobody wanted to go to bed. I was up with my cousin Sadia, my little brother Liyen and my little sister Liba.
We were all laying on my bed, located in the center of the room. My room is pretty messy. There are a few candles in the corner of my room so that we could light them when the power goes out. It happens often, here in Bangladesh.
On the opposite side of my room we have two chairs which, ironically, is never used for sitting. Both chairs are cluttered with clothes of mine I plan on wearing, but never end up doing so. Bad habit of mine.
I don't really ever use the candles since I have a light box which won't make the entire house catch fire. Better safe than sorry.
My brother gets up.
"What should we do? I'm really bored" Liyen exclaimed yawning.
"Maybe its time to go to bed." I said, leading Liyen towards his bedroom.
"Oh come on Luna, lets not go to bed just yet." Sadia said. She took Liyen from my arms and put him back on my bed.
"Let's tell ghost stories. " she said it would be fun.
" At this time of night? Its almost 3am, and you know what happens at 3am. This is not a good idea. In fact I think its really stupid. Lets just go to bed. Weird shit happens in Bangladesh." I argued.
"Ok, ok fine then. Who wants to play ludo?" Sadia asked.
"Me!" we all said in unison.
Ludo is a strategy board game for two or four players, in which the players race their four tokens from start to finish according to the rolls of a single die.
I searched for my ludo game board under my bed. The board had collected dust and so did the box the tokens were in. I grabbed an old rag and dusted off the game board. It has been 3 years since I played ludo, so I doubt that we haven't lost any tokens.
"Would you look at that, we have all the tokens. And in perfect condition too!" I exclaimed.
"Yay, we can all play!" my sister shouted with excitement.
We started playing.
"Six, five! Yes! I cut Luna's token!" Liba said.
"Dammit Libo, I'm coming for you."
As soon as I said that the power went out.
