Olivia
When I got to the city, I didn't exactly have much of a place to go. I mean, I haven't been here in a while. I slept in my car for the first two nights, but I decided I needed to find a place to stay. I had some money, but I knew I couldn't afford to live on my own without a job. So for that day, I spent most of it trying to find a job and someone who needed a roommate. I was walking into a coffee shop for food when I bumped into someone. They split their coffee all over me. Great, just what I needed. I looked up to apologize.
"Sorry I wasn't watching where I was going," I said to the beautiful man standing in front of me.
"Why are you sorry? I'm the one who spilled coffee all over you?" He said; I noticed an accent in his voice.
"I don't know. I tend to just apologize for things. It's fine, though; I can clean this up. It's only coffee." I said
"Could I buy you a new shirt?" he asked me.
I shook my head, "No, really, it's fine, a little detergent and elbow grease, and this will be right out."
"I insist on it; I feel bad. Besides, a girl like you shouldn't be walking around with coffee on her." He said he had this way of making you want to do what he said. I agreed reluctantly. Him buying me a new shirt meant I didn't have to waste money getting it washed.
We walked to his car, which, might I add, looked very expensive, and he drove to the nearest clothing store. I could tell it was an expensive clothing store by the looks of it. We went inside, and he asked the person to bring the best shirts they had. This guy must have had money if he was choosing to buy me an expensive new shirt. I tried on like 20 different shirts; they were either too tight, too colorful, or too expensive for me to look good in.
"Find one you like?" he asked me. I looked at myself wearing the fancy purple blouse they had picked out. It was nice, but it felt like I was trying to be something I wasn't by wearing it. I walked out.
"Not really. These don't feel like me." I said. "You know what, maybe we should just forget it. I'm fine with just wearing my coffee-stained t-shirt."
"Okay, then what is more your style? We can go to any other store and find something you like." He said. Although he was a complete stranger, I couldn't help but feel calm around him, almost like I had known him for a long time. I nodded, and we headed to a different store; this one felt more like a thrift store which I liked. Walking around this store felt better. I found three shirts and a flowy dress I liked, but couldn't decide which one I wanted.
"I can buy them all if you can't decide." He said.
"Oh no, it's okay, one is fine," I said. So I picked the black graphic tee. He shook his head and took all three shirts and the dress from my hands, walking to the register. He bought them all, and we headed out.
"Thank you, you didn't have to do that," I said.
"I'll think of it as my good deed for the day; where do you live? I'll take you home." He said I just looked at him, not knowing what to say.
"Oh, uh, I just got to the city; I don't really have a place to stay. So I was out looking today." Why lie? It's not like he knew me.
"Okay, would you like to stay at my place for the night?" that brought alarm bells to my head. I think he noticed the look on my face because he said. "Don't worry, I won't try anything on you. I'm just offering a place to stay for the night. You can leave anytime or say no; it won't hurt my feelings." I calmed down a little. I nodded. I did need a place to stay for the night. Plus, a bed to sleep in would be nice. When we got to his place, my eyes were wide open. This was a mansion. I figured he must have lived in a big house, but this place was huge.
"You live here?" I asked out loud, not really noticing.
"Yeah, I do." He answered.
"Did I say that out loud?" I asked him. He nodded, giving a small smile. We stepped out of the car and walked into the house. It was even bigger inside. He showed me around. As he was showing me around, my stomach grumbled. I just remembered that I haven't eaten anything since breakfast. I guess I was hungry. He noticed, and we walked to the kitchen. He made me a sandwich.
"Oh, I forgot to ask, but what is your name? I mean, I might as well know if I"m going to be staying here for the night. I was going to ask before, but I didn't think we'd talk to each other after you bought me a shirt." I said. He smiled.
"My name is Elias. What's your name?" he asked. I swallowed the food in my mouth before answering.
"I'm Olivia. So you live here all by yourself? No wife or kids?" I asked him.
"Yes, I live here by myself. I'm not married, and I don't have any children. I have people who come and clean and cook, but they don't live here in the house. So I'm usually here alone." he answered. I nodded.
"It must be lonely, wait, you're not some type of like serial killer, are you? I feel like this is something a serial killer would do. Buy me clothes, give me a place to stay for the night, and feed me just before I go to bed feeling safe and like everything is alright before you murder me." I said. He laughed; it sounded fantastic when he laughed.
"Yeah, it gets lonely at times, and I'm not a serial killer. I can assure you, you will wake up tomorrow perfectly alive and unharmed." I realized, that I could take this as an opportunity. I did need a place to stay, and he seemed lonely.
"Umm, I know we just met, and I'm a complete stranger, but you wouldn't mind if I lived here with you, would you?" I asked him. He didn't say anything. "I mean, I could pay you rent if you want. I just really need a place to stay. Sleeping in my car isn't really nice, plus with being pregnant and all..." I slapped my hand over my mouth. I just told this complete stranger I'm pregnant. Wow didn't even last a day.
"Yes, you could stay here. I don't mind the company. I also don't mind the fact that you're pregnant. You don't have to pay me; I'm pretty sure I have enough money." he said. I moved my hand from my mouth and spoke.
"Thanks. I promise I won't get in your way or anything. I'll be out of your hair once the baby is born, promise" I told him. he smiled.
"How old are you?" He asked me."Oh uhh. I'm seventeen. But only for a few more months." I answered truthfully. "How old are you?" He was clearly way older than me.
"I'm twenty-four. " He answered.
"And you aren't married with kids? Why? A man that looks like you can't be single for so long without a valid reason."
"I guess I just haven't found the right match for me yet." He replied. His smile made him three times cuter. I looked away, slowly turning red for looking at him for so long. Living with him was defiantly going to be a challenge, mainly because I was attracted to him.
We watched TV in the living room for the rest of the night. I couldn't help but feel safe here. I didn't know what it was, but something there was about him that felt safe. I just couldn't put my hand on it.
I guess I must have fallen asleep on the couch last night, and Elias must have brought me up to the room. The bed was super comfortable, I mean, I just wanted to sleep in it all day, but I was hungry. So I put on the dress we bought yesterday. I loved that it was flowy and covered my body well; I also didn't have any of my other clothes, so it was my only option other than to repeat yesterday's outfit. I walked out of the room, but I, honest to god, didn't know where to go. So I just walked around until I found the staircase.
I walked downstairs and made my way to the kitchen. It wasn't hard to find, seeing as I just followed the smell of food. I saw a beautiful redheaded woman in the kitchen when I walked in. She was gorgeous, and her dark wavy red hair against her light brown skin completed her. She was dressed in a simple white dress, yet she looked so elegant in it. I wondered who she was.
"Oh, hi," I said. She smiled at me. She pointed to a seat in front of her, and I sat down. She handed me a plate of food. I ate all of it without hesitation and asked for more.
"Where Elias?" I asked her, she turned around and answered.
"The Prince is out at the moment; he said for you to go get your things and settle in. He will be back tonight." She said. I nodded, then I realized what she had just said.
"Did you just say, Prince?"
