Not So Insane After All

Chapter twelve (Dan)

"Dan howard?" the big and bulky nurse called my name i got off my chair both gonzalez and gordon have already went and haven't came out yet, or maybe i didn't notice because i was thinking about phil. And how and why my powers haven't worked yet. I was confused. I have an odd type of Telepathy and Brainwashing mix. I call it charm. I've been trying to get phil to like me for years now. Oddly it doesn't work on him. But that's fine. Yes i already know i have powers, it was confusing when i was first administered in this asylum for depression, but then somehow it was "risk of my safety" if i left the asylum. They turned it into i was going to kill myself as soon as i left. So i stayed here for the past 11 years i'm 26 now. I' meet phil 5 years ago. We have been best friends for 5 years, he doesn't think i'm crazy or depressed. He likes me for me.

"Mr.howard? Are you coming?" she asked me

"Um yeah sorry i am. I got up slowly stretching as soon as i stood i realized how short she was, i was a foot taller than her, she's like 5'4. Yes ima giant. Once we got into the room i saw them dragging joye gordon's body out of the room into the back. She locked the door. I started to freak out. Then two big men came in and grabbed me by the arm and pulled me into the chair and strapping me down. I knew the walls were soundproof so there was no point in screaming. Instead i used my char.

"Hey there is no need to tie me down to the chair, i won't fight or get up." i could tell it was working.

"Um yeah i guess you're right." he unstrapped me and after a moment of the charm effect wearing off. The lights went out. I was confused but i didn't wait even a second. I jumped up and ran for the locked door which was now unlocked. Not waiting a moment i ran out and looked around the room which was as well pitch black, so i looked for phil, but realized it was his lunch. So i'd sadly have to leave which was a super sad thought for me. But i had to leave, i ran and ran until i noticed the big door was wide open, so i ran out i saw lucey and that one lesbian gard get in her car and drive away, then i looked over and saw mark,chloe, and jack driving away. I ran as fast as my legs could carry my tall body. Happy that the good people of this hell got out, especially chloe. She's like the elder of this place she's been here the longest all the other people who were here before her died or got let out. I can't stand being since i was 15. So her being hear since she was 11. Thats crazy. I'm not going to tell you about how i got all the money or how i made it to the forest i'm just going to say i have a very loving grandma who wanted me out for years. So once my grandma dropped me off at the place i heard phil and mark talking about i headed west. Because it's a good way to go. I found a good spot to set up my camp. That i will stay at until i figure out how to find phil. I got everything set up and i decide to go to bed after a long day of hell. I woke up to the birds singing in the morning

"I could get used to this." i said to myself. I got out of bed after about an hour of just laying there and listening to the birds. I used to do this all the time when i was 13 i'd go outside before the sun rose and would head to a clift and sit and wait for the sun to rise and the birds to sing. I loved that clift. I got out of bed and went to get some firewood to make a early morning fire. I got my aex and left, it took a lot longer than i thought it would so i was out for about 4 hours without realizing. I was on my way back to camp with phil and food on my mind. I was coming around the big fern tree and i bumped into something, no someone!

"Shit!" i yelled and dropped all my wood on the person's foot. I looked down at the person- because of how tall i am- then i realize it was mark!

"Dan? What the hell are you doing here? How did you get here?" mark yelled

"Well.." i said and i explained the whole story to them, how i heard about this place and my grandma. After them staring up at me in shock.

"So you, me, jack, got out. Who's the last person?" chloe said to me with a questioning face.

"How should i know?" i said but then i remembered about lucy. "Oh yeah lucy got out, and left with that one lesbian security guard. Oh what's her name."

"You mean amber? She's bi, but that's besides the point. So all the ones i wanted to get out did, that's good." i was confused. Why did he want me out? That made no sense...

"Why did you want dan out?" i heard jack say, the first thing he's said this whole time.

"Well, he's like you two. He has abilities. It's a mix of Telepathy and Brainwashing, its-" i cut him off

"It's called charm."

"Right ok, well let's just focus for a little bit and figure out the plan" he said. We all sat down and talked about what we were going to do, after talking we decided to unload there camping stuff and set up what they needed. Chloe had her own tent while mark and jack shared one. The took all of their non perishable foods out of the cooler and count what they have plus mine. We get all of the stuff set up.

"So chloe what do you have? Ability i mean." i ask her while we start to stack the wood.

"Um well i have Precognition basically." she said as she glanced at mark and jack.

"Oh cool, so which one?" she looked at me obviously confused. "Which one do you like?" she got flustered automatically, got her.

"What? I don't like them like that!" she said in a lode whisper.
"Oh come on it's obvious you can tell me." i said to her

"Well... both?" i almost laughed but i held it back and smiled at her.

"Hey shut up!" she said louder this time and both mark and jack looked at us laughing. I could see that they were jealous, did they think i liked her? Thats funny.

"Hey dan." mark called to me and waved his hand.

"I'll be right back" i said still semi-laughing. "What's up?"

"So would you mind sharing your tent? We have someone else coming." he said and just as he said that i saw him wave to someone behind me. I looked behind me, and there he was, the one that's been on my mind. Phil, he walked up to us with the biggest grin on his face. I couldn't control my face. I smiled like a complete idiot, then i ran up to him and hugged him. To my surprise he hugged back.

"I missed you." he said into my ear since he was about my height. We unhugged since everyone was looking at us. We walked the rest of the way to them close together. But not to close.

"So i'll take that as a you don't mind" i sook my head yes.

"I ship it." i here jack say, me and phil blush slightly.
