You left me
Sobbing in the corner
I watch your backs
Shadowed as you embrace the new inferno
Brighter than I could have ever beenI was the light once
But my flame went out too quicklyYet
I can't help but wonder
Why can't you be satisfied with my darkness
The way it wraps and folds around you
Cozy
Comforting
Like a winter coatThough few truly appreciate darkness
Most chase the light
Letting their daydreams drown out reality
Illuminated by the temporary shine
Of something unattainable

A collection of poems
