(The next day)

"There he is Star. Go talk to him." Janna said pointing to Marco, who was at his locker.

"What am I supposed to say? Hey I know I cheated on you by kissing your best friend, but let's get back together?" Star asked Janna sarcastically. 

"I don't know, but he's alone." Janna said pushing Star towards him.

Janna kept pushing her until she bumped into Marco, then Janna ran away.

"Sorry." Star told him, then quickly walked away before he saw her.

She hid around the corner and watched as Kelly walked up to him.

"Hey Kelly. Mind if I walk you to class?" Marco asked putting his arm around Kelly's shoulder.

"Sure." Kelly said with a nod.

(After school at the Coffee House)

"Hey Star." Nick said when Star walked in.

"Hey Nick." Star replied walking behind the counter.

"So I heard you broke up with Tom." Nick told her.

"Yeah." Star replied.

"I'm sorry, but I know someone who's single and you two might get along." Nick told her.

"Thanks Nick, but I don't think I'm ready to date anyone right now." Star told him.

"Oh. Well you are let me know. I can set you two up." Nick said with a smile.

"Thanks." Star replied smiling back at him.

"So how are things going with you and Janna?" Star asked.

"Fine. I'm picking her up after my shift for our date." Nick explained.

"I thought you were working late?" Star asked.

"Yeah I was supposed to, but I'm leaving early at seven." Nick explained.

"What?! What about me?! I'm supposed to do all this stuff by myself?!" Star asked getting worried.

"No. Tom will be taking my shift." Nick told her.

"Oh okay... What?!" Star said really worried.

"Yeah... Why?" Nick replied asking confused.

"Because we haven't spoken since I broke up with him!" Star explained freaking out.

"I'm sure you'll be fine." Nick told her. 

"But Nick..." Star started saying.

(At seven)

"Hey I'm here." Tom said coming inside.

"Hey man. I really appreciate you taking my shift for me." Nick said as he was walking out.

"No problem." Tom replied.

"So Tom... How you been?" Star asked awkwardly.

"Alright. How about you?" Tom replied asking awkwardly.

"I'm doing fine. Thanks for asking." Star replied.  

"Good, good." Tom said nodding.

"Tom?" Star asked. 

"Yeah?" Tom asked awkwardly.

"What are we doing? We were friends before we dated. So why does this gotta be weird?" Star asked.

"You're right." Tom agreed nodding.

"Friends?" Star asked holding her hand for Tom to shake.

"Friends." Tom replied shaking it.
