"Do you want me to continue," Samantha asked with tenderness in her voice. I have been told that my mom died on impact, and my dad died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital. I had a mild concussion, and mild whiplash. The hospital was called Planters Regional Hospital. Throughout the night, I was sedated five times, and each time I was sedated, they had to up the sedative, and by the sixth time I needed it, they gave up because it wasn't working. The car was totaled, and the other car was no where to be found.

"So wait, there's more," I already knew the answer, but I had to ask anyway.

"Yes, are you ready to hear this?"

"No, but I have to hear it from someone, and I rather it be now, rather than later."

"Your dad that died in the crash, wasn't your biological father. He has no blood relation to you."

"What?! No!! That's impossible! I'm the reason the even got married in the first place because they got pregnant with me!" The tears had stopped a long time ago because I had no tears left, but somehow, they reappeared. There was no stopping these tears either. These were like a flood.

"I know it's hard to hear, but it's true. We had to run DNA tests on you, your mother, and your father. You and your mother's DNA matched, but your and your fathers were completely different."

"Then if he's not my dad, then who is?"

"That's the thing. I dont't know... I'll have to look at the original birth certificate. Kimberly, this also means that you have to live with your real dad because you have no other relatives."

"No, I'm not living with a man that I don't even know, a man that apparently didn't even want to meet me."

"Kimberly, you have to."

"Get out!

"Kim.."

"I said leave!"

With that, Samantha left with her face saddened. I know my words hurt her, but that's a lot to take in when your parents just died, and especially when you can't even get out of bed. My thoughts were interrupted when the door opened. "Samantha, I said go away." I still heard footsteps coming closer, so i decided to look over and see who it was. The police officer who came earlier was now standing on the side of my bed. "Well crap. Let me guess, you want your answers. Or wait, are you here to tell me that my fath-, Daniel, isn't really my father, and I have to live with some man I don't even know, 'cause someone already beat you to it."

The officer went to get a chair, and when he finally found one, he drug it to the side of my bed and said,"Damn girl, you're good."

"You want answers, ask the questions."

"Wow girl, you don't beat around the bush, do you?"

"First off, you want to talk to me, you address me by my name, which is Kimberly. Second, Don't piss me off. You have no idea what I can do."

"Alright, Kimberly, I got that. Now you listen to me. I'm the oldest here, I make the rules. And, like you, I want you to use my name, Officer Alexander White, but you can call me Alex. Do you have a nickname I can call you by?"

I didn't answer. I just starred at him. He's gorgeous. His hair is dirty blonde, and his eyes are green with blue specks. He's tall and muscular, just perfect... "Hello, anyone in there," he asked while laughing and snapping his fingers in my face.

"What? Um, no there's no nickname."

"Well okay then..."

"Where are the questions you had?"

"Oh, yes." Do you mind telling me in detail what happened?"

It took 30 minutes to explain. It would've gone quicker, but the little prick kept saying "huh, uh huh, hmm, and okay" the most annoying thing of my life.

"Is there anything else you would like to add?"

"What else is there? It was just a hit-n-run."

"Just asking, just in case you forgot anything."

"Well I didn't."

This guy was getting on my nerves, and quick. "Here's my card if you need anything." The card he threw at my landed on my legs, with the freshly written cell phone number on the back.

"Um, genius, how am I going to call you? My phone was lost in the crash."

"No it wasn't," he threw my shattered phone at me. I wish this guy would stop throwing things at me.

"How'd..."

He cut me off, " don't worry about it."
