Divergent: No War

Chapter 5

Ok so I suck at doing Tobias's P.O.V. so I'm probably going to do Tris's P.O.V. for most of the story.

Tris P.O.V.

Oh My God. He's proposing. I'm crying like crazy. What do I say?

"Will you marry me?"

"I'm sorry Tobias" I can see his smile drop," I'm going to have to say yes!"

He processes what I said and slips the ring on. It's beautiful yet simple. A black gem surrounded by a red, clear, gray, and blue gem. The factions. We kiss passionately and the initiates begin to clap. We smile and run to catch the train. We jump on and I sit on Tobias's lap on the way to the compound.

We get back and drop the initiates off at the dorms. Tomorrow is Visiting Day. Finally my life is perfect.

---Next Day---

I wake up and remember it is visiting day. All of the sudden I feel really sick. I throw up and then I am fine. I shrug it off because it has been happening for like a week. I wake up Tobias and do my daily routine of getting ready.

We walk into the initiates dorms and see that most of them are awake.

"Good morning, today is visiting day. Some of your parents have come and some will not. Please do not seem to attached because we take the term 'Faction before Blood' very seriously. Thank you."

We walk out an it hit me like a brick wall. I freeze and Tobias looks worried.

"Are you ok Tris? You look kinda pale." He asked worriedly.

"I'm fine now let's go see if my mom is here. I want to show her my ring." I say trying to convince him I'm fine. He looks skeptical but lets it go.

We walk out and I spot my mother. I run over to her and give her a hug.

"Mom mom mom mom guess what?!?!" I ask a little jumpy and excited. God I sound like freaking Christina.

"What Beatrice?" She asks trying to avoid the burning glares of the Erudite.

"Look" I show her the ring and her eyes widen.

"Is that an engagement ring. Who are you engaged to?" She asks and I'm a bit surprised because Abnegation people aren't supposed to be curious.

"Oh it's Four. You met him last year when he was my initiation trainer. And mom even bigger news I think I'm-" I'm cut off by my dad and uugghhh Marcus.

"Hello Beatrice." Marcus says with a forced smile.

"Tris and why are you here." I spit and my parents look shocked at my behavior.

"Oh I was wondering if you know my son, Tobias. I never saw him in factionless so I assumed he made it in." He says trying to be casual but I see him stiffen.

I have to warn Tobias. "Well, even if I do, it was not very polite of you and may I dare say selfish to interrupt my conversation with my mother," I give a sick innocent smile," now if you will excuse us I have some news to share with her in private!" I take my mom's hand and hope she gets the idea.

We walk for a bit until I see Tobias. "Four honey go back to the apartment."

He looks confused. "Why?"

"Let's just say one of your fears is here." He stiffens, eyes widen, and his skin pales. He walks swiftly toward our apartment.

"Sorry about that mom. Now don't freak out but I have been having morning sickness and I think I may be pregnant but I don't know yet because I haven't taken the test yet." I look at her nervously assuming she would be angry but she smiled.

"I'm happy for you! Let me know when you are sure and invite us to your wedding if it wouldn't be too much trouble. I'm sure you will be happy with," she whispers his name in my ear," Tobias Eaton."

My eyes widen,"Please don't tell Marcus. And don't tell Four either because he isn't too fond of his childhood." My mother nods in understanding.

I wander around checking with initiates and talking to my mother. All too soon the bell rings signifying that the families need to leave. My mother and father wave goodbye and I wave with my left hand and I still had my ring on.

Apparently my father noticed because he pales and my mother whispers something in his ear and he calms a bit but glares at me as he stalks out of the compound. All in a days work, thinking your pregos, and your dad hating you. Ehh a typical day in Dauntless.

On the way back to the apartment I pick up a couple pregnancy tests and take them home. I follow the instructions and I look at the stick.

Oh My God. Positive. How am I going to tell Tobias? Will he be happy or sad? What will I do if he doesn't want the child? Or worse doesn't want me? These questions swarm my head and I just break down crying in the bathroom. I cover the pregnancy tests and throw them away.

He walks in "Tris are you ok?" He seems to be asking me that a lot lately. I nod and he doesn't look too convinced but he doesn't press it.

I sigh. At least I have a couple days before stage two to tell him but how?
