The Last 6

Chapter Two: Drake

I close my eyes and concentrate on the form, shape, size, color, and bone structure of a horse. When I open my eyes I'm, no doubt about it, a horse. It's perfect. I trot around kicking up dirt, and do a little happy dance.

I calm down as I see some other horses. I run over to them and run through the group.

The group starts running with me and I'm having the time of my life.

After about a half hour, I slow down, gradually falling out of the group. I make it back to the wooded area, and shift into a deer.

I strut through the forest.

"I'm getting good at this!"

Last time I shifted I wasn't even identifiable. I looked like some mythical, disfigured, jumbled up mess of a creature. Granted I was 5 and that shift left me in pain and discomfort, and I was so scared that I haven't shifted since, until now, 5 years later.

First time in five years, and I'm a pro.

I come up to a wide stream about 2 feet deep and come up with an idea.

I stand in the middle of the stream and shift into a simple fish. Simple because I don't want to shift into something complicated and end up drowning. Ironic to end up drowning as a fish.

I open my eyes and I'm in the stream, another successful shift! I swim in a circle and jump out of the water falling back in.

I swim down stream and end up swimming along with 2 other fish. I end up in a lake, and break away from the other fish slowly increasing my size and changing my form into a wingless water Dragon. I quickly swim up and jump out of the water. Sealing up the gills, and growing wings. I then think of my original form and fly back to where I started.

I fly down into the trees, and shift into a monkey and start swinging from tree to tree. Others join in and I'm having a ton of fun.

After about Ten minutes, I'm back where I started and bored out of my mind.

So I open up the mind link and greet the only person with an open link at the moment.

"Hey Serena, what are you up too?"(Drake)

Serena one of my 5 friends. I could say I'm closer with her than the other 4, but I still care for them and make time for them.

"Swimming. What about you Drake?"(Serena)

"Nothing, I'm bored. I'm all out of ideas. I've ran with horses, I've gone swimming with the fish, I've climbed trees with monkeys, done all my training for today. I've ran out of things to do. I just wish we could all meet up during the day. Instead of waiting for night time, or in Knights case 'sleep time' isn't it always night time where you are?"(Drake)

About half way through saying that I sensed him join the conversation, than Amy joined about 2 seconds later.

"Huh? Oh, ya. The sun doesn't rise here."(Knight)

"It's too bad. The sun is so warm and welcoming. I could spend forever just laying under it." (Amy)

"I really don't mind. I prefer the moon anyway. I spend plenty of time in the sun in the dreams realm"(Knight)

"It's not real though. It's all artificial."(Amy)

"What are you guys babbling on about now?"(Blake)

Blake's here. Amy and Knight always seem to be at odds about something, and Blake is always the one to say something.

"The difference between the real sun and the dream sun."(Serena)

I can litterly sense Blake's eye-roll.

"Hey guys I have to go. It's supper time. See you in Dream State."(Serena)

"See you in Dream State."(Drake, Amy, Knight, Blake)

'Dream State' is the agreed name we came up with to call the realm we visit every time we fall asleep.

Serena closed her link and it was just me, Blake, Amy, and Knight.

"So what have you been up to Blake?" (Drake)

"Well... I torched a tree this morning, OH! Your going to love this! I got out of training with my brother, and once I was alone did some 'personal' training. Guess what happened." (Blake)

"Used snakes as target practice?"(Amy)

"Pretended to be Drake and failed?" (Knight)

"HEY!"(Drake)

"What?! It sounds like something he would do!"(Knight)

"NO! Neither of those things! I blew up a rabbit."(Blake)

"..."(Drake)

"..."(Knight)

"..."(Amy)

"What-"(Drake, Amy, Knight)

"What happen? I can feel the awkwardness, even when the link is closed."(Katerina)

No one replied her. It was pure silence. 5 minutes passed.

"Guys?"(Katerina)

"You... blew up A RABBIT!! HOW-... WHY-... WHAT!!"(Amy)

"Dude, thats... uh... I have no words."(Knight)

"Blake..."(Katerina)

I'm pretty sure everyone could feel her killing intent in her voice. I sure would not want to be Blake right now.

"Care to...elaborate... on that."(Katerina)

With Blake feeling the brunt of her attack, and with that much intensity, I would bet you her spine scales are sticking out.

"Ok. I didn't mean to blow up the rabbit, but I had a rough training session, so I left and went deep into the forest and punched a tree and the next thing I know, a rabbit is convulsing in the corner of my vision and when I say it blew up, thats just putting it lightly." (Blake)

"I think I'm going to be sick."(Amy)

Amy left and soon Katerina followed. Not a word said.

"See ya guys in Dream State. Prepare your self Blake. I could feel it from here."(Knight)

I could feel Knights shiver and could practically hear Blake gulp.

"Woman are scary."(Blake)

"Ya, sucks to be you dude. See ya in Dream state."(Drake)

"Ya."(Blake)

I leave the link, and fly into the air.

"Its going to be a long night." I say to no one in particular.
