RYDER'S POV (AND A TIME SKIP)

For the past couple weeks it feels like Luke has been avoiding me.

I don't know why.

Everything's been so good between us the past six months.

He's constantly on his phone texting someone.

And when he goes out and I asl him where he's going, he doesn't tell me.

He just says "out."

And "he'll be back soon."

Something's shady with him and I don't like it.

Rye Bread 🍞: How are things with you and Griffin? We never followed up after the last time we spoke.

Mikey 🍿: Well we're done officially

Rye Bread 🍞: Good for you! How'd she take it?

Mikey 🍿: Not so lightly. She trashed my room...

Rye Bread 🍞: Psycho chick. Do I still have to be rye bread in your phone?

Mikey 🍿: I kinda like it to be honest. But how are things with you and Luke?

Rye Bread 🍞: Lol okay whatever floats your boat. But I don't know. He's been acting shady.

Mikey 🍿: Shady? Luke?

Rye Bread 🍞: Yeah... He's almost always texting someone and he never tells me where he's going when he goes out. I'm afraid he's cheating on me...

Mikey 🍿: Hmmm. That is strange. That doesn't sound like him at all. I wouldn't think he'd cheat on you. But just talk to him about it.

Rye Bread 🍞: Yeah you're right. I should probably do this now so I'm not stressed on my birthday. Thanks, Mikey!

"Luke." I said with fear in my voice.

"Yes, babe?" He asked.

"A-Are you cheating on me?" I asked.

"What?! No?! Where'd you get this idea?!" He exclaimed.

I told him everything I told Mikey.

"I'm acting like this because of a super secret project that I wish I could tell you. I'd never cheat on you. I love you." He said.

I was able to breathe again.

It felt like a weight was lifted off my chest.

"I love you too." I said kissing his cheek.
