“Wait, really!? How?” Dream and Blue perked up at this, obviously excited to help their dear friend. “His journal! It goes back forever! He’s bound to have explained his emotions! Especially because of his forgetfulness!” Error said enthusiastically as he revealed the journal in front of them. “That’s genius! But what if it doesn’t say?”
“We’ll have to find out, won’t we?” Error pointed out.
Two hours of reading pages has passed by now. Dream was flipping through pages while Error and Blue were trying to jog Ink’s memory. “Ok… do you at least remember what the colours mean?” Error urged. Ink nodded. “WHICH IS WHICH THEN!?” Blue asked. Ink seemed to hesitate. “Where should I start…?” he looks up at them unsurely. “UHM… WHAT ABOUT… YELLOW?” Blue suggests. Ink looks at the ground, in thought. “Happiness… joy? Something like that.” He shrugs. “What about red?” Error chimed in. “… rage.” Ink replies. “BLUE!”
“Sadness.”
“PURPLE!!”
“Either pride or fear. Depends which purple.”
“FLAMINGO!”
Error stares at Blue questioningly. “…Blue… that’s not a colour….”
Blue stares back at Error. “…I KNOW THAT. I JUST REALIZED YOU GUYS HAVE A FLAMINGO ON YOUR LAWN.” He points out of the window. “Oh.” Error looks to where Blue was pointing. “So we do.”
“Guys! I found something that might help us!” Dream shouts, waving them over. “YAY! WE’RE GONNA GET YOUR EMOTIONS BACK, INK!” Blue rejoices. “…yay? I guess.” Ink says, looking emotionlessly at the ground.
“It says here,” Dream began.
All three of us just stare. “Like that’s gonna help us.” Error rolled his eyes. Dream shrugged. “It’s the closest thing I found so far.”
“WELL AT LEAST IT’S SOMETHING!” Blue cheered. “I’M GONNA GO ASK INK IF HE REMEMBERS WHERE THAT PLACE IS.” He stated proudly and walked away. Error and Dream sighed at each other.
Nothing what-so-ever. Dream was still flipping through pages (of the second journal now) to find anything else and Blue was trying to coax Ink to spill something. Error was in a corner rubbing his temples. He was never good when it came to stress… and this was just too much. He began to freeze up as his breathing sped up, in the beginning of what was probably a panic attack. Blueberry seemed to take notice because the next time Error looked up, Blue was beside him with a concerned look. “ARE YOU OK, ERROR?” He asked. “Uh… yeah. Yeah, I’m fine. Just... stressed.” Error flashed Blue a small smile. “OH… CAN I HELP YOU SOMEHOW…?” Blue looked like he was about to lend him a hand but stopped himself. Haphephobia. Error shook his head. “No… I’m fine. Really.” He mumbled lowly. Blue nodded slowly, not entirely convinced. There was a long, awkward pause. “I’m gonna go talk to Geno.” Error said quickly and turned to leave before Blue was able to say anything. He needed comfort. Besides, it was long overdue that Error gave him a visit.
Error stumbled clumsily through the portal into the Save Screen, just regaining his balance before he toppled over. “Error…?” Geno’s voice rang through the emptiness. “Y-Yeah. That’s me…” Error held his head and looked up to see his brother. (Yes, Error, Geno, and Fresh are brothers in this.) Geno stared blankly for a few moments before grinning widely. “Brother! It’s so nice to see you!” Geno rushed up to him, remembering to keep the contact minimal. “I missed you! Where have you been? What are you doing here?” Geno asked brightly. Error held his head tighter. This was definitely not helping his stress. “H-Hey Geno… I just… needed to see you. A lot has been happening lately…” Error croaked out. “Error? What happened? Are you alright!?” Geno asked, worried. “No. Half of me is left.” Error chuckled and Geno just looked at him with an unamused expression. “Seriously?” was all Geno sighed. “That was cheesy.”
“I dunno ‘bout you but I thought it was pretty GOUDA!” Error smirked but mentally cringed. Geno just grumbled.
“Hey Geno. I brought you some-“ a deep, echo-y voice sounded. “Reaper?” Geno turned around. “Wait… Reaper? The hell is he doing here?” Error glared at the God of Death untrustingly. “The hell are YOU doing here?” Reaper retorted back. “Guys… please don’t start fighting.” Geno begged. “He hasn’t hurt you, has he!?” Error growled. “No! Error, Reaper’s… uhm… a friend, actually.” Geno said shyly. Error still seemed uncertain but nodded, relaxing a bit. Geno sighed. “Reaper, Error is my… brother. Kinda. We share the same curator so we’re pretty close.” Geno explained before Reaper could say anything. Reaper looked surprised but said nothing more.
Error slowly walked up so he was in front of Death directly. “But even think about reaping Geno, and I will destroy you.” Error threatened. Death chuckled. “You think about destroying his universe and I’ll reap you.” He replied calmly, but smugly. Error and Reaper continued glaring at each other for a while before being broke apart by Geno. “Will you guys STOP!?” he yelled angrily. Error looked down guiltily. “Sorry.” He mumbled. “It’s alright.” Geno smiled, patting him on the shoulder.
“HI! I FINALLY GOT HERE! IS ERROR OK!?” Blue screeched, hopping through a portal, followed shortly by Dream and Ink. “…Error?” Geno asked, confused. Error looked at Geno and then to Blue, before being tackled into a hug. “OH MY GOODNESS! ERROR’S OK! WHY DID YOU JUST LEAVE LIKE THAT!? YOU HAD ME WORRIED YOU WERE GONNA TRY TO-“ Blue stopped and looked at both Geno and Death as a long silence pursued. “Try to what…?” Geno asked, suspicious. Nothing was adding up in his mind. “UH… THAT DOESN’T MATTER! AS LONG AS ERROR IS SAFE!” Blue smiled, squeezing Error tighter. “Blue…” Error choked. “Off…”
“OH! SORRY!” Blue gasped, letting go.
