I didn't know...

Ink paced around the empty void, bored. Odd, he thought. The au’s haven’t been attacked lately... it’s all peaceful.
It’s probably nothing. The destroyer guy just needs a break from all the fighting is all.
No, that’s not it. Something’s wrong. It just doesn’t feel right. Ink’s strides got longer and faster the more he pondered about it.
C’mon, Ink. This is a break for you. Take it. You shouldn’t be concerned about their health. They’re a destroyer! They hate au’s!
... what is wrong with me?
Ink couldn’t take it anymore. He opened up a portal with his handy-dandy paintbrush and followed his senses.
Outertale? His senses told him the destroyer is here? Why would someone as evil as them be at such a beautiful location like this? "Ink?" said a familiar voice. "Outer! So glad you’re here, buddy!" Ink immediately spun around and leaned on the other him, his arm wrapped around their shoulder. "...why?" Outer asked hesitantly. "I’m looking for another me. Black, blue streaks on their face... glitched af. Seen anyone like that? They have red eye sockets, the word ‘error’ etched all other their body..." Ink continued, his right hand twirling circles in the air. "Actually, yes I do. I believe I’ve seen them here quite frequently come to think about it. Didn’t bother getting to close ‘cause... well I didn’t really know or even care who they were." Outer stated rather calmly. "Excellent! Where did they go?" Ink asked with his usual enthusiasm beaming. Outer just simply pointed in the direction. "Thanks!" Ink exclaimed and immediately took off.
Ugh. I’ve been walking how long? Ink asked himself as he trudged along. Wait, what did Outer say about the ‘error’ dude coming frequently? Why would he be here frequently and still not have destroyed it? He wondered. "Hello?" Ink called out. No answer. So he kept walking for a few more minutes. "Helloooo?" Ink called out again, a little more irritated. Still no reply. Keep walking then.
The same process went on for about 10 minutes before he got some kind of answer. But it wasn’t who he was looking for. It was just another Outertale resident. Once again, Ink tried describing the certain skeleton he was trying to find. They directed him to the left. Ink thanked them and went on.
This is pointless! He has to have left by now! But my senses are still saying he’s here! Ugh. Maybe my senses are wrong this time...
Nope. They weren’t. And that was officially confirmed when Ink had heard muffled, glitched voice nearby. Is that them? Are they... crying? Ink crept closer due to curiosity. It was them. That’s the one he’s looking for. Ink crept a little closer. He’s... he’s actually crying. "Shit... why am I such a fucking failure? I just wanted to... NO! No, I don’t want anything! I don’t even need anything! I... I don’t..."
Wow. I never expected this from a guy like him... I’ve always viewed him as a heartless beast... is his behavior really just self-hate?
"I don’t... deserve anything..." the skeleton said, whispering now. "I don’t deserve anything. I’m... I’m just a worthless piece of junk aren’t I? Ha. Ha. Yeah." He paused. Ink was about to move in but he halted where he was. The opposing skeleton let out an angered glitched screech and wrapped his strings around a nearby tree. He yanked on them and the tree came down no problem. "I... I just can’t take it anymore! That fucking human! They..." he stopped as he choked back tears. He drew out his Gaster Blasters and continued mauling the poor tree. "They destroyed everything!" He yelled angrily, his attacks getting more vicious by the second until he finally just stood there panting. "Heh. No wonder they call me Error. I literally am nothing but an error."
Ink stared on, unsure if he should butt in. Or even how. He sighed and stepped forward. "Um... hello." He announced hesitantly. Error just blankly stared at Ink before disappearing through a glitched portal. "No, wait!" Ink called, but it was too late. "Damn!" He reached for his paint brush once again, created a portal, and hopped through.

Error teleported to another universe. "Shit..." he said in frustration.
"Error!?" He heard the familiar voice of Ink. "Where are you!?" Shit. Shit shit shit shit shit SHIT. What do I do? He opened another portal to leave but was held back. "Let me go!" He hissed as arms wrapped around his chest. "No! Error, please stay!" Ink begged. "Why!?" Error yelled, tears now streaming down his face. "Because... I know we’re enemies and all, but I still care about you!" To Error’s surprise, Ink was crying now too. "Please." Ink whispered, hugging tighter. Error relaxed at this. "I’m sorry. I’m so, so sorry." He sobbed and made his portal disappear. "I’ve destroyed so many au’s out of m-my anger... not even thinking about how you f-felt. Without thinking a-about how A-ANYONE felt. I-I just could-n’t handle... my au being d-destroyed... so I destroyed all of th-the other au’s..." he hitched as he sunk to the ground, Ink following. "I understand. It’s fine. I forgive you." Ink said softly, stroking his skull rhythmically, trying to calm him down.
"Heya, Inky. Didja-" Dream Sans began to speak, but then noticed Error. "Uhm... sorry. You’re havin’ a moment. I’ll just go... then... see ya." He said awkwardly and turned to leave. "No, Dream, you don’t have to go." Ink looked up at him with a tear-stained face. Dream paused. "In fact, maybe you could help?" Ink said.

"Thank you, Dream. You couldn’t have been more helpful."
"Oh, It was nothing really-"
"No. You helped us, both me and Error, out a lot. So it wasn’t ‘nothing really’."
"Ink, I do this stuff all the time. Giving people good emotions is my thing."
"Yeah. But still..."
Dream just sighed. "Yeah. Ok, you win." He said, earning a smile from Ink.
"Alright you two lovebirds, can we get over it already?" Error butted in, making both Dream and Ink blush with his comment. "L-lovebirds?" Dream echoed. Shoot, does he know about my crush on Ink!? "Ha! The look on your faces. Priceless." Error rolled his eyes. "And he’s back to normal." Ink muttered not-so-amusedly just loud enough for Dream to hear. "Heh. Yup." He agreed. "What are ya talkin’ about!? I’m way better than I was when I was ‘normal’." Error huffed, pretending to be hurt. "How did you even hear me?" Ink asked. "In case you didn’t know, I can lip-read. (*JUST PRETEND OK!?*) Pretty fluently too." Error boasted proudly. Huh.
