“IS DREAM GONNA BE OK!? HOW BADLY IS HE HURT!?” Blue rambled. Error glanced at him and sighed. Dream was laying on their couch unconscious. Had been for about an hour and a half now. His body had bruises and scratches all over. He did not look well that’s for sure. “ERROR! ANSWER ME!” Blue yelled, practically at the brink of tears. Truth is, Error didn’t know if Dream was going to survive much longer. “Blue… let’s just…” Error sighed. He didn’t know how to tell Blue. If he told Blue that Dream was going to be alright, he might be giving Blue false hope. If he told Blue Dream was going to die, he shouldn’t do that. “ERROR! IS DREAM GOING TO DIE!?” Blue wailed. Error stayed silent, looking for the right words. “Let’s just give it time. We’ll do what we can. That sudden stop from such a speed really did a number on him.” He replied. Blue didn’t look happy about his answer but didn’t say anything. Error looked down at Dream and grunted, heading off to check on Ink. Do we really need to be worrying about Dream and Ink right now? This day couldn’t possibly get any worse.
“Ink?” Error knocked on the door. Silence as usual. “I’m coming in.” he stated, even though it was pointless. He walked into the room where a bored Ink sat on his swivel chair. It’s gotta be boring when you don’t have any emotions. Well, then again, you wouldn’t really care. “Hey Error.” Ink said, not looking up from the ground. “I came to check up on ya. Dream’s still out so… yeah.” Error sat on the edge of Ink’s bed and sighed. “Y’know, this’ll be a whole lot easier for everyone if you just told us how to get you your emotions back.” He prodded. “Yeah. Probably would.” Ink agreed before both went silent again. “You concern me in every way possible.” Error chuckled at the truthfulness of that statement. Ink nodded slowly. “Uh-huh.”
“Aw, come on~ At least try to show some enthusiasm. Fresh is pretty good at it.” Error poked Ink’s arm in a sort of teasing fashion. “Yeah. But I’m not Fresh.” Ink responded. “Way to suck out the fun.” Error muttered and stood up. He quickly looked at the time.
6:28 p.m.
Great. The two good cooks are unavailable. So that means me or Blue.
. . .
Y’know what, I’ll just pass.
Dream opened his eyes groggily. He glanced left and right unsurely. “Where am I?” he asked aloud to no one in particular. He quickly sat up but recoiled due to the sudden pain in his head. He groaned but forced himself up and looked around. “I don’t rec-“ he started before coming to a realization. This was Ink’s house. The memory flashed vividly in his mind. Ink’s devilish smile and crazed eyes. The feeling of being pushed off the edge. But most of all, Ink’s words. Ink’s cruel, harsh, soul-crushing words.
“You thought I was worried about you? You imbecile! Why would I forgive you, come now, don’t be irrational!”“For all I care, you can die. In fact, that would be doing me a favor!”
Dream covered his mouth with his hands as he began to quietly sob. “Dream…? You’re awake…?” said a drowsy voice from behind. Dream whipped his head around and saw a stunned Blueberry. “ERROR! DREAM’S AWAKE!” Blue yelled before barrelling into him.
“I’M TRYING TO GET SOME FUCKING SLEEP!!! YAY! DREAM’S IN THE PRESENT NOW BUT CAN YOU DO YOUR LITTLE HAPPY REUNION OR WHATEVER QUIETLY!?” Error yelled angrily from upstairs. Wow he’s cranky. “SORRY!” Blue apologized. “SHUT UP!” Error yelled back. “What’s happening out here?” a dull voice said. Blue and Dream looked over to see a tired Ink. “Oh! Ink! Dream just woke up!” Blue answered excitedly. “Oh really?” Ink questioned sarcastically and looked over at Dream.
It felt like time just stopped for Dream the moment Ink locked eyes with him. And not like those romantic fairy tale time stops. When normally Dream would be struck with love, he was struck with fear. His breath got shaky as he stumbled backwards, those awful words repeating over and over inside his head. “…Dream…? Are you ok?” Blue asked, worry clouding his voice. Dream couldn’t bring himself to answer him. He just kept backing up until his back hit the wall. Before he knew it, he was crying uncontrollably as he sunk to the ground. “DREAM!” Blue was crouching in front of him, gripping his shoulders tightly. “DREAM? DREAM, WHAT’S HAPPENING!?” Blue yelled. “I… I should be dead… He told me to die and I couldn’t even do that!” Dream cracked a broken smile. “D-DREAM…!? NO! DON’T SAY THAT! NO ONE EVER WANTED YOU DEAD!” Dream thought he heard Blue crying now as well, but he couldn’t care less. “I should’ve died. WHY AM I NOT DEAD!?” He screamed. “ERROR SAVED YOU! WHEN YOU RAN OFF INK BROKE HIS VIALS-” Dream let out a small gasp and perked his head up. “-WE THOUGHT WE WOULD GO OFF TO FIND YOU AGAIN! BUT WHEN WE FOUND YOU THERE WAS ANOTHER INK STANDING RIGHT IN FRONT OF US AND YOU WERE FALLING DOWN THE CLIFF SO ERROR USED HIS STRINGS TO SAVE YOU!” Blue stopped, tears flowing freely. Dream sat there, processing what Blue had just said. “I-Ink… was with you…? But he… he’s the one who p-pushed me down. He’s the one who told me to d-die… I remem-ber. There could-n’t have been two Ink’s.” he hitched. “DREAM! LOOK AT INK RIGHT THERE!” Blue got out of the way so he could see. “DOES THAT LOOK LIKE THE INK THAT WOULD DO THAT TO YOU? OR EVEN IN THE STATE TO?” Blue asked. Dream hesitated but looked up at Ink. It felt like his soul was beating so fast it would tear out of his chest. His body was shaking and his breaths were ragged but he forced himself to calm down. He studied Ink up and down. Blue was right. Ink was completely grey, his once colourful eyes were now plain white pupils, and… his sash. His sash was gone.
“WELL…?” Blue nudged his arm. “I-It’s still my fault.” He whispered. True, maybe Ink doesn’t hate him. But that doesn’t change the fact that it’s his fault that Ink is like this.
“BUT THAT’S AN EASY FIX! JUST GET INK SOME NEW VIALS AND VOILA!” Blue claimed. “But do you know how to get him some new vials?” Dream asked. “Nnnnnooooo…. Unfortunately not…” Blue mumbled. “I thought so…” he sighed.
Ink stared at the two laying on the floor, muttering things he couldn’t hear. Not that he really cared what they were talking about. Ink let out a yawn and started back up the stairs. “INK? WERE ARE YOU GOING?” Blueberry asked. “Does it matter?” he replied quietly and kept walking.
“Hey Ink.” Error’s scratchy voice said. “That’s me.”
“Ha. Ha. Anyway, I couldn’t go back to sleep because Blueberry kept yelling as usual. You’re awake so I assume you’ve seen Dream?”
“Uh-huh.”
“Did he seem ok?”
“Other than the fact he had a huge meltdown and was feeling extremely suicidal… he seemed fine.” Ink said casually. “Wait, WHAT?” Error said, shocked. Ink said nothing and continued forward. Why is everyone freaking out? I don’t understand.*Ok, so my parents surprised me with a special trip. I have no idea where we're going but it's going to take about 4-5 days. So chances are that I'm not going to be very active. Sorry. Also, instead of writing 'Ink' I accidently wrote 'Oink'. Meh clumsy fingers are clumsy.
