Him & Her

There once was a girl that tried to stand out,

This girl was very loud and intrusive.

One day she noticed a boy,

No one ever talked to him.

She admired the way the shy boy kept to himself,

He didn't make friends.

One day, the abrasive girl slipped a note to the shy boy,

She was dancing with fire.

She left it anonymous,

The note, that is.

The boy wanted to know who she was,

She had said many things about admiring him.

The next day, she promised to meet him,

To show herself.

She believed herself to be ugly,

Unworthy of the boy's care.

The silence became deafening,

He knew her now,

There was no going back.

He said nothing to her,

The shy boy went back to being shy.

The abrasive girl went back to being abrasive.

But every once in a while

She would try to win the affection of the shy boy.

The year passed,

Then ceased to be.

She would no longer have to see the boy,

The boy would no longer have to bare sight to the girl.
