Three busy days had passed since Loki and Delaney shared a rather heated kiss. Those three days were filled with Delaney getting back into work and trying to patch things up with Hill—not to mention all of the meetings she had to attend.

Now as the day was coming to an end, most of the agents were either leaving base for drinks or in the break rooms, playing video games and relaxing. Delaney spent a while in one of the larger break rooms, watching the Avengers play video games and fight over it. She hadn't seen Loki since he left her office three days ago and it was beginning to make her stomach churn. He wasn't even in the room with the Avengers.

Delaney padded out of the break room and down the hallway. She always managed to run into Loki when she was just walking. She aimlessly walked and walked around the Compound before finding Loki but he wasn't alone.

"I do not want to discuss anything with you, Thor."

"You're being an ass, brother. You're a little more snappy than usual too."

Delaney stepped around the corner, making her presence known to the Asgardians. Thor's eyes lifted to her and he gave her a friendly smile. She waved at him and returned the smile. Loki half turned to see who his brother was smiling at. When he saw it was Delaney, he pushed past Thor and began to walk hastily through the hall.

"Excuse me, Thor." Delaney slipped by him and followed the younger brother. "Loki! Loki! Hey! I've been looking all over for—,"

"You don't get it, do you?" He spun around to face her, moving too quick for Delaney to stop. She nearly ran into him.

"Get.... Get what?" Her voice was timid and meek. He sounded angry. He never used that tone with her, he only ever sounded mildly annoyed but that was just Loki.

"I don't want to be around you. I try my damnedest to stay away but you are so persistent on reining hell on anyone around you."

Delaney's insides began to knot up and she felt sick. Her brows crinkled together and she gently shook her head.

"No-Please, not you too." She took a step away from him, her hand coming up to her mouth. "I've-I've lost trust in everyone here but-but not you. Please don't do this." Her voice cracked and she took a step towards him, reaching out for his hand. Loki's jaw locked and he closed his eyes as he pulled his hand out of her reach. "I-I'm-It was the kiss, wasn't it? We can act like it never happened! Please, Loki. I'm so sorry I put you in that situation. I would never have done it if I didn't think you wanted the same. Loki, please look at me."

Silence fell between the two as Delaney blinked tears away. They cascaded down her cheeks in warm wet trails. Loki opened his eyes, the sound of her heartbroken voice made him feel nauseous. The guilt was unbelievable.

"I can't lose you, Loki."

"You never had me to lose." His voice was quiet as he forced the words out.

"What's going on here?" Steve spoke from behind Loki. Delaney didn't take her eyes off the god. She screwed up so bad and all she wanted was to go back to being kind-of-friends with Loki. "Delaney? Are you okay?"

"I'm fine, Captain." Her voice was soft. "Loki—,"

The god of mischief disappeared in a cloud of dark green smoke. Delaney let out a shakey breath but that only made it worse.

"What did he do, De—,"

"He didn't do anything." She brushed past the Captain America and began to hastily make her way down the hall.

The next morning, Delaney was up bright and early to go out and get coffee for all of the Avengers and a few S.H.I.E.L.D. agents. Once she passed out coffee to a dozen or so agents, Delaney took the rest of the coffee back to the conference room the Avengers would be in shortly. She hummed to herself, not letting her thoughts wander as she wrote Loki's name on his coffee cup. As she turned around to put the cup on the conference table, Steve entered the room. Delaney gave him a smile and turned back to the coffees on the table in the corner of the room.
