Two weeks.

That's how long it's been since Stella escaped her owner. All she did was run and hide and scavenge for what little food or water she could find, but it’s difficult for a human to survive in a city full of giants. In fact, it's almost impossible for humans to even survive without a giant's help.

However, Stella didn't want their help. She was tired of being a pet, and she tired of the abuse. Stella decided she would rather take her chances on the streets than spend another minute being tortured anymore.

Although, trying to survive during the cold nights of October was not the smartest move. Her red flannel shirt and black jeans were not enough to protect her from the bitter winds. This winter was going to be a harsh one.

A loud groan came from her stomach, which made Stella wonder; when was the last time she ate? The small woman shuffled down an alley, hoping to find something edible.

“Nothing.” Stella sighed. Feeling weak and tired, she slumped down against a brick wall. Her eyelids felt heavier than usual. She just needed to rest for a few minutes, then she would keep moving.

THUD! THUD! THUD!

Stella’s green eyes shot open. What was that? She instinctively jumped to her feet as it got closer and closer….

“N-no!” She let out a gasp as her eyes gazed upon a giant man. He must have been sixty-five feet tall, with thick dark hair. But what frightened her the most was that his brown eye fixated onto her.

“Well, hello there.” The giant said as he got down on his knees. “Are you okay?”

“Please…. Please, go away. I don't…. I don't  Need your help.” Stella said in quiet voice.

“Are you sure? You don't look well, and I'd like to help.” He extended his hand towards the tiny woman.

“Get back!!” Stella snapped.

The giant man froze but his hand remained close by her. “Miss, please, it's dangerous for humans to be out here. If you're lost, I can take you back to your owner if you know where-”

“NO!” Stella screeched as she hastily backed away from the man. He was going to take her back! She can't go back! Stella had to get far away from this guy before he snatched her up but before she could run, her legs buckled and she collapsed to the ground. Stella let out a groan as her head pounded.

“Oh, shit!” He moved closer to her and a concerned face filled her view. “Don't worry, I'll get you help.”

Stella wanted to scream and run but her voice got caught in her throat and her body felt like it weighed a ton, it was hard to even stay conscious.

The last thing she could remember was a pair of hands curling around her.
