“No!” Stella snapped.

“Come on, it'll be okay.” Jason said. “Clair is super cool, you'll like her.”

“I'm not meeting anyone!” Stella shouted as she stood on the kitchen counter.

Jason sighed. He was glad she was starting to speak up a little more but they've been arguing about this for days, and now it was friday and Clair was on her way.

“Look Stella, I know you're scared but you can trust Clair. She wouldn't hurt a fly.”

“I'm not meeting her, Jason!”

Before Jason could respond a knock came from the door. Jason and Stella locked eyes.

“Please.” Fear trembled in her voice.

Jason thought about what to do for a moment, before sighing. He quickly grabbed Stella, ignoring her gasps and squirming and dropped to his knees and placed her onto the floor. “Get under the couch then if you're gonna be this stubborn.”

“Thank you.” She gave him a soft smile before darting under the couch.

Jason stood up and walked over to the door. He opened it and there stood a gorgeous woman with her shoulder length blonde hair tied in a ponytail.

Before Jason could respond she leaned over and passionately kissed him with her soft lips. She was about a foot shorter than him so she had to stand on her tiptoes just to reach him.

“Hey babe.” She said, staring at him with beautiful green eyes. “It's been awhile.”

“Yeah, sorry about that, work, you know.” He replied.

“I understand, working at the office is always crazy when the holidays are coming up.” She said as she sat down on the small couch and placed her brown purse on the floor.

Jason followed her and sat next to her. “So, how’s James and Charlie doing?”

“James is coming home with straight A’s, Charlie is… doing better than last year at least.”

Jason chuckled. “I'm sure he'll find an interest that he'll pursue soon.”

“That's what dad thinks.” She replied.

“And how are your parents?”

“They're good, but what about you, Jason? What have you been doing besides working all the time?”

“Well, Andrew still has me doing free repairs instead of hiring someone.” But that was only half true. Jason wanted to tell Clair  about Stella but he didn't want to do that to just pull her out of her hiding spot, he wanted her to actually approach Clair.

Clair scoffed. “I wish you would just tell him to fuck off, or at least pay you for your work.”

“Trust me, I would if I could, but… this is the only place I can afford right now.”

“I know, but this place sucks.”

“Hey, it's not all bad.” Jason stood up and gestured to the small room. “They catered the design to me, and this place is only a block from where I work, there's no annoying neighbors!”

Clair smirked. “No neighbors, huh? That is a perk.” She stood up and took off her jacket, revealing a tight green shirt that hugged her curves rather nicely. Jason still found it hard to believe that she was thirty. She inched closer and closer to him until he stumbled onto his bed. That's when Clair pounced.

She climbed up on top of him and pressed her lips against his. He wrapped his arms around her body pulling her closer. He could feel her heart pound through her chest. She's obviously been waiting for this and who was Jason to keep her waiting?

But before he could do anything else, he heard a groan, but it wasn't coming from Clair. He glanced over and found Stella running towards the door!

Without thinking, Jason stopped kissing Clair to call out to the human escapee.

“Stella, w-!”

“Excuse me?” Clair responded. “What did you just say?”

He looked over to Clair whose face was red with rage.

“Shit!”

Clair jumped to her feet. “You just said another girl’s name!”

“Clair, it's not what you think.” He glanced over at Stella who darted near Clair’s purse to stay outta sight.

“Did you not just moan out another girl’s name?!” She shouted.

“Okay, yes, but-!”

“But nothing Jason! This explains why you didn't try to go out with me for three weeks!”

“I got caught up with things, Clair!” Jason replied.

“Oh, go tell it to Stella!” Clair snapped before grabbing her jacket and purse and slamming the door shut.

Jason took a heavy sigh. Clair wouldn't be Clair without her temper, give her some time and she'll cool down.

“Sorry you had to witness that, Stella.”

But Stella didn't say a word.

“Hey, Stella you can come out now.”

Nothing.

“Stella?” Jason peered under and around the couch but Stella was nowhere to be seen. “Shit!”
