carter meets hurricane

sometime on monday!

That weekend, Carter's insecurity with being left out of girl-time was quickly answered. They'd invited her to come shopping with them at Demolition, a popular store meant to exchange and buy used clothes at a discounted price. Of course, Riley and Maya ended up getting completely swindled by the owner's daughter and they had to call in Topanga.

Thankfully, Carter had only been there for moral support and a second opinion for fashion at the time. She learned that clothes were actually more important than she thought. Somehow, Topanga was able to get through to the manager, who was in her mid- 20's and on to do great things. She completely turned her viewpoint around and went from conning kids to genuinely caring for her customers.

And Carter got a free outfit for it.

"Ta da!" Carter happily announced, gesturing to her outfit.

"This is the surprise you told me about?" Farkle asked her with a smile.

"Yup! Isn't it great?"

Farkle couldn't help the grin on his face. It was great. Seeing his best friend smile like that was possibly the greatest thing he's witnessed. It made him wonder the ways he could make that smile stay on her face forever.

"Did you spend all of your allowance money on that?" Farkle asked her, still smiling.

"Technically, this one was free. But I did get a bunch of other stuff, so, I'm officially broke. But it was totally worth it," said Carter.

Farkle knew that Carter didn't like to blow all her money on herself. He constantly offered to pay for her ticket and soda at the movies, but he wanted to do so much more than that. Farkle wanted to give her everything she deserved, which to him, was everything.

Carter recognized the gleam in his eyes, and shook her head. "Don't even think about it, Farkle Minkus!"

"But why?" Farkle pouted at her.

"You do enough for me as it is!" Carter protested, but he shook his head.

"It's not enough, you deserve the world." Farkle argued.

His bright smile was contagious, and she couldn't help but start giggling profusely.

"Harley was right to call you Giggles, you know." Farkle muttered as they took their seats, but she didn't hear him.
