Four

I stared at my phone screen. It had been five minutes after I had called Jungkook through Jimin's phone that he texted me, begging for my forgiveness.

I frowned, little tears escaping my eyes. I allowed myself to break down, Jimin trying his best to comfort me. "Hey, Taetae, it'll be okay. I promise. Look at me."

I looked up, sniffling quietly. Although I did know that Kookie and I were becoming more and more distant, I never would have thought...

"Jimin hyung? Jungkook got mad at you because you cheated on him... R-right?" Hesitantly, Jimin gave a small nod, clearly ashamed of his actions from a long time ago.

"Then.. Why did he cheat on me?" Jimin bit his lip but shook his head, not being able to even comprehend the question Taehyung was asking. "I-I need to call someone... Hold on."

I got off the couch and made my way to the bathroom, calling my friend that I've known for about seven years. After the first ring, he picked up and —

"Taehyung-ah! Oh my God, my poor, beautiful, innocent baby. I heard what happened. Jungkook doesn't deserve you at all. You are such a sweetheart and—"

"J-Jin eomma," I said quietly, interrupting the older's mini rant. "I loved him. I still do. I love him a lot. And... I don't know why. I'm mad at him b-but he's all that's in my mind... He always was... I don't know what to do, hyung."

There was a long silence on the other end of the line as Jin processed my words. Knowing that Jin was thinking, I ran my hands through my hair — one of my nervous habits.

"Taehyungie," Jin started softly, his voice matching that of an angel's, "Please don't forgive him. I know he means a lot to you but please, please, don't let him come back into your life. Once a cheater, always a cheater, and I don't want my sweet, little baby getting hurt."

"What hurts me," I replied bitterly, "Is that he would cheat on me. And that because of one mistake, you don't like him anymore. You know, hyung, I'm clearly mad at him. And disappointed. And upset in general. But you have no fucking right to tell me how to live my god damn life!"

"Taehyung-ah—"

And with that, I hung up.
