Twenty Nine

We were dismissed from the room and I stood in the hallway, smiling like an idiot because I was so fucking happy. It was like an earthquake had occurred but the whole city took part in fixing everything up and now it was better.

The six of us chatted, Jimin occasionally reassuring me about the previous events — although I didn't need reassuring, of course — and the others cracking horrible jokes to make us laugh.

"When is a door not a door?" Jin asked, a playful glint in his eyes. We all shrugged, waiting for the answer to the oldest's horrible joke. "When it's... Ajar!" He said, making the five others including myself burst into giggles. "Oooh, I got one," Yoongi jumped in, his gummy smile on his face for everyone to see. "Actually I got a pickup line. Hey Jimin?"

"Hmm?" Jimin said, blushing at the attention he was getting from Yoongi. "Are you an angle? 'Cause you're an acute-y!" We all burst into laughter except Jimin, who was blushing profusely. I patted my best friend's back with a grin on my face, and said — teasingly — "Jimin, are you sure you're not going to turn into a tomato someday with Yoongi-hyung around?"

"I don't really know," Jimin muttered under his breath, making Namjoon, Jin, Yoongi, and me all burst out laughing once more. "Namjoon," Jin said turning around to face the younger, "Why don't you do this with me?"

"I-I didn't know you wanted me to."

"Please do," Jin replied with a slick wink, and we all gasped. "Eomma," I whined, "don't do anything to our new appa! Please! I finally have one, don't scare him off!" Jin glared at me at the nickname and everyone else — including Namjoon — laughed at my joke. "Taehyung has a point!" Hoseok added playfully, looking dead into Seokjin's eyes.

"Kids," the oldest mumbled quietly, and we all laughed once more. This continued for about fifteen more minutes, the atmosphere happy and excited. Then, the door opened for us to see a happy doctor. "You can come in. He's almost, almost awake!"
