When your heart starts to pound rapidly while your whole world stops moving and you feel like anytime you can fall because the ground beneath your feet becomes non-existent is when you realise your life is going to change.

That's what exactly I had felt when I saw those men with my family.

I knew I had to do something to change the situation, but at that moment my mind stopped functioning.

"Nan-Nandu," My dad stops talking when the guy holding the gun presses it on his forehead clearly asking him to keep quiet.

I take a moment to breath before gaining some courage and opening my mouth, "Who are you? What do you want?"

"You'll know that soon-" Not letting him complete whatever he was saying, I move forward and try to snatch his gun with as much force as I can, but it makes no difference to him and he manages to push me away.

I wait for the impact, which never comes, instead I feel someone's arms wrapped around me preventing me from falling.

When I open my eyes they directly get locked with the most unexpected pair of eyes, Stranger's.

My eyes wide as oranges and sensing my discomfort he lets me go and I fall on the floor with a thud.

"Ouch."

Before I can get up and say something, his voice rings in the air, "What did I say before coming here?"

I furrow my eyebrows in confusion when he turns his head towards the men who are now standing looking at the floor.

"Speak up." He yells not to loud but definetly enough to make someone pee in their pants.

"To-To not to tou-touch her." The one guy who was holding my mom says motioning his eyes towards me.

I gasp just like everyone in the room when the Starnger punches that man, "Then why the fuck did you do it?"

"So-sorry sir, it wo-won't happen again." The other man speaks but as a response even he received a punch.

As much as I hate violence and in other situations I would definitely ask him to stop, but they deserve it, so instead I keep my mouth shut.

"I don't want to hear anything from any of you. So just shut up." They just shake their heads in affirmation.

When he looks up after straightening his T-shirt, his eyes meet mine for a second, and I know unlike all the other times I've met him, this time they're blank.

He clears his throat and sits on the couch placed in the middle, "Please, sit."

He motions his head towards my parents and they do as he says.

I know after seeing all this they're frightened to no extent, I would be too if I didn't know the stranger sitting in front of me, who's eagerly waiting for me to sit as well.

Once I settle down, he clears his throat and sits a little forward, "I know you have a lot of questions. But right now is not the right time to answer them. Maybe one day, I will, but not now."

He looks up at my parents and after some second ke silence he speaks again, "I need your daughter to come with me."

My parents get up instantly and as a reflex emotion my mom comes and stands in front of my still figure.

"What do you mean by you have to take my daughter? I will not allow it. I'm going to call the police and get you arrested." My dad takes two steps forward towards the telephone placed in the corner table, when one of the guards punches it, shredding it into peices.

"Don't do that uncle. You will doing a huge mistake." He gets up from the couch and glances at my still figure before turning to dad, "I could've taken her by force. But here I am, asking for your permission."

I gulp down all the messed up emotions I'm feeling right now and speak with a shaking voice, "But, what do you want from me?"

All three of them turn their faces towards me, and when I look up to the Stranger, I see something an emotion building up in them, but he's quick to look away and hide it.

"You will know that why I'm doing this soon, Nandini." Whilst my parents look taken aback listening to my name coming from him, I freeze on my place again.

"I promise, that she'll be back safe in some days. No one's going to hurt her or make her do anything she doesn't wish for-" Before he can complete whatever he was trying to say, my mom cuts him off, speaking with a feared yet a stern voice, "How can we? We don't know who you are, or what you do. So how can we just let you take our daughter away from us?"

"You have to trust me on this." He takes a deep breath, "I have to take her, either you let her come with me, or I'll take her by force. So you decide, let her come with us without much drama or maybe one of us is going to be hurt by the end of this."

"We will not let you-"

"I will go." The entire hall falls in silence when I speak.

I take my mom's hands in mine and stand up looking right into the Stranger's eyes showing him that I'm not scared of him.

"Nandu-" Before she can complete, "No mom. I will not let anyone hurt you both. And, if for that, I need to go with them, I will."

The way they look at me, I know they're shocked with the firm voice I just used, and that's what I wanted to see. They need to know that I'm not scared of them and neither I will be.

"Perfect. You can come with us right now, there's no need to pack your clothes, I'll just ask someone to take you shopping." His voice changes from firm to a relieved one, and even tough I'm shocked to hear what he just said, I don't let it flash on my face.

"Nandi-" I press my mom's hands and she gets quiet, while I look up into dad's eyes.

"Me and my guards will wait for you in the car. Come soon." He takes some steps forward, but stops and looks back at us, "Don't try to do anything stupid like calling a police or something of that sort, because it's not worth it." Saying that he walks outside with his two guards following him.

The sound of the door getting closed makes me loose my firmness and instantly fall back on the couch while my parents still stand frozen on their places.

"Mom, dad. I know this is not right. I know this should not be happening, but unfortunately it is. So I have to go with him. I promise, I'll try everything I can to get out of whatever place he's going to take me." I lift myself up and hug mom who instantly gives in and buries her face in my neck where I feel something wet touch my skin, and I know she's crying.

I break the hug and take her face in my hands, wiping her tears with my thumb, "Mom, please be strong. Please. For me."

I pull my hands away from her face slowly and look at dad before hugging him tightly.

When after some minutes, I break apart, I hold his hands in mine, "Just some days and I'll be back. I won't let them do anything with me, that's a promise."

Dad nods his head and kisses my forehead, while I take my hands away from his and after kissing mom on her cheek, I leave the living room with a determined mind.

. . .

Look who's back. Yes me!

Sorry for taking so long.

But I hope you like it.
Do let me know your thoughts about this one.
