.Nandini
Mom used to say that I love getting into troubles, in some way I find them adventurous. And maybe, I did find them like that. Especially when I knew there was no escape, yet I have to find one.
But this one, this one, 'effin, trouble is anything but something like an adventure to me.
Hanging downwards while a net is holding me up is definitely something that doesn't excite me much, amd if I was at home, I'd probably just shout for mom for help, but in this forest, I can't even see any bug flying around, then how am I supposed to find humans?
Does that make sense?
Does it?
I'm just hungry.Only God knows how long I've been lost in this good for nothing forest.
But by the sun's fading light, I can make up that it's been quite a long time.
But, hasn't Stran- Manik found out that I'm missing, yet? Or has he decided to not to come and help me?
How mean!
'It was not his fault that you decided to come here, Nandini. So stop blaming him.'
Look who's here, my subconcious.
Only you were left for this situation, and look you came with your all time serious voice.
I feel a glare being sent my way from her, but I ignore it and try to move my feet and get myself free, but it makes no difference at all.
I sigh and make a crying sound while looking straight, when my subconscious speaks again, 'Enjoy the feeling of an upside down life, Nandini.'
I roll my eyes at his sarcasm, but choose to ignore and try again to escape.
"Don't try. You won't be able to get out." My neck snaps up to the voice, but the only thing I see are two legs wearing faded blue jeans coming towards me.
I feel two hands opening the knot just below my ankles and soon enough, I fall over the muddy floor with a thud sound.
I make some crying sounds but that person says nothing and neither gives me his hand to help me get up.
"You can at least give me your hand to get up." I keep looking down so I don't have to face his reaction, but that never comes.
My nose flares in frustration, and when I look up, his back is turned towards the other side, where 10 to 15 men are standing silently.
My mouth falls agape once I realise I've probably made a fool out of myself by not getting up, so that's what I do, I push myself up the ground using both my hand's support.
I rub the back of my jeans, but the mud doesn't go away, instead it spreads even more, making me groan in frustration, which unknowingly gets those men's attention.
I give them an apologetic smile, "Continue, continue, I'll just go." I turn around to take some fast steps, but before I can do anything, the guy who saved me shouts, "Stop."
The authority in his voice makes me jelly on my place, and colse my eyes in fear, especially when he comes around and stands facing me.
"Open your eyes." I instantly shake my head, fearing the sight I'll encounter further.
"Open.Your.Eyes." His stern voice puts and end to it, so I slowly open my right eye and peek at his one side face and the than open the second one completing the picture.
He's hot!
Shut up Nandini!
I gulp when he meets my eyes, "Who are you? What are you doing here?"
I look down at the muddy floor not being able to answer, but his intimidating voice asking me to answer ends all my possibilities.
"I- I am Nandini, Nandini Murthy. And, I was just having a walk." I try to keep my voice as steady as possible while he doesn't even bother to look at anywhere else but me.
"Which pack?" I furrow my eyebrows and look at him with a confused face, "I'm not some chocolate that will come in a pack."
We both open our eyes wide on my immature response, and I instantly cover my mouth with my hand.
Nandu, you're gone.
I give him a sorry look, but he completely ignores and clears his throat before throwing another question at me, "Who do you live with?"
I take my hand down, "I don't know wether you know him, he's not popular and lives alone and stuff-" I shut myself when I recieve a glare from him, and give him the answer he wants, "Manik Malhotra."
I hear a gasp from him as well as those men standing behind us doing nothing but being the crowd watching drama.
"Come again, Manik Malhotra? As in, Manik Malhotra?" I just nod my head not knowing what to answer.
Manik is so popular? Didn't seem so.
"Erm, do you know him? No, actually, do you know the way to his house? I'm kinda lost right now." When he looks back at me, I instantly try to take my words back, "If you don't, then it's okay-"
"What relation do you have with him?"
I don't even think my answer and respond rather quickly, "Why should I tell you that? Who are you to ask me all these questions? Listen, I'm someone very close to him, so if you don't want any trouble, then leave me."
I cross my arms over my chest, and look behind him trying to look all though and serious, even though I just talked about a pack of chocolates not long ago.
"I'll take you to him." I quickly let my arms fall on my sides while my eyes look at him with some admiration, for being my rescue.
I know, I shouldn't leave with strangers, but he's not and cute and moreover, I have nothing to loose at this point of being lost, 'cause I know for a fact that Manik's gonna eat me alive after he discoveres where this pretty guy found me.
"Follow me." Crossing me, he starts walking fast to which I jog to keep up with his pace, "Can you slow down!? I'm not that fast and above that I'm too tired." I feel a glare from him, which I completely ignore making him slow down a little bit, enough for me to walk and not run after him.
"By the way, what's your name?"
"Shut up."
With that I seal my lips with an imaginary zip and keep walking behind him, mentally preparing myself for what may come my way when Manik sees me.
