Ear pressed against the wall
My body shocked and stalled
That one chilling word
I have just heard
Filled me with such dread
And silence after It was said
Chair scraped the floor
At my heart, fear tor
They knew I had listened
Salty tears slowly glistened
Freed from a frozen spell
Run, a voice in me would tell
She reached out and called my name
But also said It all the same
It rang inside my head
As I dashed past the gate
Sound stony and forced
The word was Divorce
