Memories and moments. Sometimes they come and go, your mind forgetting them and making room for new ones. But this moment would stay with you forever. You can remember walking slowly down the aisle with what feels like a million eyes piercing every inch of your body. With the sheriff and the marshal in front of you, you found yourself constantly checking over your shoulders at the followers who were growing closer behind you. Gripping your gun tightly and stepping gently on the creaking floor beneath your tired feet, you didn't want to disturb the silence that made your jaw clench.
You weren't paying much attention to the man at the front, the leader of this "cult" you'd heard so much about back at the station. No. You were paying attention to every other pair of eyes, or more specifically every gun in the room. You were just here to arrest the leader. Not to listen to anything they had to say. But you knew about the power this "organization" had. You knew how dedicated their followers were. That's why you were so on edge. So cautious. It's because you knew they would die for their "Heralds".
The sheriff called your name. Your back was turned to them, eyeing the agitated and poised followers that threatened your escape. Turning back around slowly you caught up to the others who were now standing in front of Joseph Seed. The Leader. You'd read up a lot about him back when you were investigating this Cult in Atlanta.
He truly believes that he was chosen by God, and that he was told of the coming end of the world. Joseph is shown to be a psychopath, having no problem killing, torturing and looting to advance his project. That was what the stack of files burying your desk at home were saying.
With this knowledge in mind you tried not to let his calm eyes and gentle voice fool you into thinking he was trustworthy, let alone safe to be around. Your thoughts were interrupted, however, by a man smirking ominously behind him.
With brown hair formally brushed back and a neatly trimmed beard, decorated with expensive clothing and tattoos covering his arms, his identity was easy to decipher. That was the first time you laid eyes on John Seed. His cold, arctic blue eyes stood out to you the most. You watched as they went from the sheriff, to the marshal and finally landed on you.
His relaxed and swaying shoulders stiffened. He was frozen in place but not noticeably or nervously. His smirk faltered a little when his eyes landed on you, looking you up and down whilst his head stayed fixed in Joseph's direction. His thoughts began to pester him. Thoughts of what sins may be consuming your soul and where it would be marked on your body.
Ah yes. Your body. He'd never forget the first time he saw you. Your skinny black jeans and crinkled blue shirt defining almost every feature of your body. He began to imagine certain... scenarios... before he bashed away his sinful thoughts and returned his attention to the father, who was now quoting "The Book of Revelation" valiantly.
When you took a step towards the Father, his clenched fists now extended towards you, john took an uneasy step down from the platform that raised him and his siblings above the crowd. His brows furrowing in concern for his brother, he prayed that Joseph's predictions wouldn't come true.
"Rook? Cuff this son of a bitch". You took a hesitant step forward, now growing anxious. Anxious from thoughts of how powerful the cult was and how your escape plan was falling flat by the large number of followers now blocking the easy path out of this damn church.
You had a growing fear that if you cuffed this man, you would be stuck here. Unable to call for back up. Unable to escape the invasive and forceful methods of which this "cult" was known to use to make you willingly, or unwillingly, join them.
The youngest seed raises the corner of his brow when you hesitate. You were a threat. A locust in their garden here to take the Father away from his children. But something about your hesitation spiked an interested in him. he started to question your motives. Were you being forced to do this? What were you thinking? Do you want to join them? If so does that mean he'll be able to have his fun with you?
