It's been over a week, a full week since I've spoken to Grayson. Between classes, me working and him sneaking off we didn't see each other much anyway and when we did neither of us would even cough
"So anyway as I was saying" Clare flicks her fingers on front of my face, taking me out of my trance "it's Maddie's birthday in two days so we should plan a surprise party to celebrate"
"We?"
"I get your not talking to Grayson, which is stupid by the way, but Maddie gets along with him and all his friends so unfortunately both of you will have to deal with it"
"I mean it's getting past the point of stupid" she continues being brutally honest "both of your are hiding out from the dor-"
"No were not" I mutter childishly looking at my nails
When I look up she's giving me a stern look "Emma you've text me so much times asking to meet at Starbucks or somewhere else and you're always in your gym clothes when I see you meaning you're just back or are intending on going to the gym"
"You got me there" I sigh
"If it's going to continue like this one of you are as well move out"
I nod agreeing with her. Even though we both know that I wouldn't move out for him and he wouldn't move out for me
The bell on top of the door in the small cafe we are currently sitting in chimes and when I look up from our booth in the corner to lock eyes with a smirking brunette
But not just any brunette, Grayson
His smirk widened when I noticed the red haired girl wearing almost nothing compared to everyone else because of the weather dropping another 10 degrees in the past few days
He puts his hand on the small of her back and whispers something in her ear, his eyes not dropping mine
When they take a seat at another booth I zone back into reality
"You okay em?" Clare asks a worried look on her face oblivious to Grayson being here
"What yeah, why would I be" I say my voice a pitch higher than usual
I sat through another few minutes of talking to Clare and trying to ignore Grayson's burning gaze on me before I told her I had to go and finish an assignment I have due next week
Walking out of the cafe I only looked straight ahead keeping my face neutral and looking unaffected
Not that I was, it was just weird to see him with a girl. Even though I know he's been with them I've never actually seen it and I never realised he brought them out
Or maybe she's his girlfriend and that's what he's been keeping secrets about
The stupid tinge I felt when I thought that was probably nothing, I'd be happy for him
When I got back to the dorm, I had no intentions of leaving again, it's not like Grayson would be back anytime soon
I took off my make up and tied my hair up into a messy ponytail. Once I changed and sat on my bed I decided to actually turn on my computer and finish the assignment
I must have got caught up doing the assignment because before I knew it Grayson was back, the smug look still on his face
I looked at the time to see it was already past 1am before shutting off my computer and getting under the covers
I spent the next god knows how long staring at the wall. I had heard Grayson go for a shower and he's been asleep for awhile now
