"Grayson seriously get back here right now" I shout into the phone once he picks up
He sighs on the other end of the phone "Emma I don't want to go and you shouldn't either. I don't get it your not even family"
I scoff "thanks you dick"
And then I hang up. In reality even though that may have slightly bruised my ego I'm not actually pissed we both know why I'm going but I also know that by him thinking he's upset me he'll come back and go so I won't be pissed
Grayson walks in a few minutes later and I look up at him through the mirror I'm currently using to do my make up
"Ok so maybe I overreacted" he runs a hand through his hair "but if I go then they could get targ-"
"Grayson they won't" I interrupt him "you can't hide from your family forever they're eventually gonna start questioning you and you won't know what to say"
He sighs and nods
A little after an hour later we park outside the restaurant
Grayson smirks "let me guess your starting to regret coming"
I roll my eyes "so maybe I didn't think this through"
Once we get out of the car he walks over to me "I'll hold your hand" he winks and intertwines our fingers
"You're such a player"
Grayson never took his hand away and somehow I'm grateful for that. Well at least I was until we walk into the party room and everyone looks at us and then our hands.... including Patricia
Suddenly we both drop our hands
"Grayson you came" His mom comes up to us "Emma you got him to come"
Patricia grabs my arm and pulls me towards one of the tables
"You've a lot of explaining to do missy" she whispers as we walk towards a group of people
Most the children were in the kids play area but there was a young girl with curly brown hair and sharp features that resemble both Grayson and Patricia
"Trisha" The young girl runs into her sisters arms
"Ali" Patricia scoops her up "This is Emma, my friend"
"Your pretty" She gives me a toothy grin
I smile "Thank you sweetie. So are you"
The three year old reaches her arm out towards me , so I take her out of her sisters arms
"I like you" Her words cutely sound different, her l's sounding more like a w
"I like you too" I smile at her "you're way cooler than you sister"
"What about her brother" Patricia mutters from beside me to which I lightly nudge her shoulder
A few minutes and a few introductions later I'm sitting at a table with Patricia, Grayson and their parents
"So Emma do you have any particular job you want to go into after college?" Their dad, Paul asks
