Slowly waking up, no sounds, no light, no warmth. My breathing becomes steady as my eyes adjust to the darkness, I get up and walk to the drapes and pull them open; instantly regretting it. I pick up all of my yesterday's clothing items, I place them on the hamper and walk to the kitchen. Placing the kettle I walk to the pantry and take out all the needed ingredients for blueberry muffins. After the batter is finished, I put the pan on the preheated oven.
I walk back to my bedroom and continue towards the bathroom to brush my teeth. After the morning ritual I stare blankly at my reflection in the mirror, taking a deep breath I close the running water and dry my face with the hand towel. The sound of the air coming out of the kettle makes me get back into reality. I pour the boiling water onto a cup, placing the tea bag as I look for the sugar. The timer goes off and I open the oven and carefully remove the pan from it and placing it over the counter top.
I lean on the counter blowing the seam of the tea cup. I take a zip and flick my tongue at the burning liquid going down my throat. I take a bite from one of the muffins and the flavors explode in my mouth. The fluffy outside mixed with the soft and warm inside makes me groan in pleasure. The far away sound of my phone makes me intrigued. I slowly walk towards my nightstand. The caller id says "Lucas Gemengways".
"Styles." I say answering. "Yes, Styles; I just received your email with the id code and I'm curious about the choice..." " I needed a change" I say bluntly interrupting him. " and I want to know her here. No phone shananigans. Are we clear?" I think it's time I take business into my own hands. "Crystal, sir. How soon would you like her to move?" He says clearly outside his comfort zone. "Tomorrow as late. No excuses, don't tell her who I am and keep me updated on her traveling status. No bullshit Lucas." I say ending the call.
