HELLO!!
It's Ren here with the first part of my segment, Let's Draw WARRIORS!
Here's a simple tutorial on drawing a Warriors scene (digitally):
Once you're done filling the base layer, create a clipping layer above it (in the same group) to use for coloring the fur and adding texture. This way, you don't have to worry about staying within the lines!
For lighting, use not only a lighter version of the base color, but make it warmer or cooler depending on the light source, and then the opposite for shading. In the example below, the light source is the sun, so the lighting is warm, and the shadows are cool.
And the finished version, with a detailed background:
Not sure what I was going for there..maybe the RiverClan/WindClan border in the forest territory? Personally, I think I'm better at painting landscapes than cats, buuuut that's not what we're here for. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anywayyyy, as you can see, these basic steps can be used for more than just Warriors art. Starting from a rough sketch, using base colors, and multiple layers are all great tips and tricks for any digital art. I hope this tutorial was fun and helpful for everyone!
