A hand settled on Marianna's shoulder as she tugged her blazer on. Her deep brown eyes examining herself with slight contempt before tearing them away from her reflection to stare at her father.
"We will not lose the cafe, Marianna. I vow to you." He whispered, eyes soft as he looked at his daughter. Marianna nodded and turned back around, pulling her cushion from the drawer and applying the bb cream over her face. She applied mascara, blush, and a lip stain before deeming herself ready and packing away a powder compact, her lip stain, and her school books. She hoisted her bag on to her shoulder and walked down the stairs gracefully, stopping at the door. He removed her house slippers and slipped on her pumps, taking the umbrella from the hook and setting foot outside. Her driver had requested off that day to spend it with his wife and newborn. The Tsukasa family wasn't about to tell him no.
This led to where Marianna was now, umbrella shielding her from the water that spilled from the clouds and legs splattered from where she purposefully walked in puddle. Cold, rainy days were the best, in Marianna's opinion. The streets weren't as busy, people heading indoors, not wanting to get sick. Marianna didn't mind though, she had a strong immune system.

Marianna skipped a little to the song playing in her head, her heels clicking against the ground with a rythym only known to her. Water splashed over her tanned legs and caused goosebumps to appear. Marianna was so happy in her little world that she didn't notice the car pull up beside her. "Marianna." A deep and rich voice called. Said girl turned and made eye contact with Mori.
"Mori-senpai, good morning. "
Mori pushed the door open and pulled an umbrella with him, saying something to his driver before opening the umbrella and shielding himself from the rain. "What are you doing, senpai?"
"I want to walk." He said stoically, eyes twinkling. Marianna giggled and nodded, "okay, I can respect that, do you want to walk together then?"
Mori's eyes widened and he looked at her, unsure of whether or not she understood completely what she was implying. It seemed she didn't have a clue.
Mori, instead of pointing it out, nodded his head and walked along side her as she skipped merrily to school. He only glanced to her side when she giggled or when she said something, not really asking for a conversation just curious. He grabbed her arm a couple times to keep her from falling or slipping in her heels. He wondered how she could do a lot of things she does in shoes like hers.
"Marianna." Mori called, his brows furrowed.
"Yes, mori-senpai?"
He took a breath, "What song are you skipping to?"
Marianna giggled with a flushed face and turned to him, causing him to do the same, "I wasn't aware you'd noticed."
Mori remained silent.

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel
So bad!

Marianna giggled as she danced and sung, her hair becoming stringy as it got wet. Her heels still clicked against the sidewalk and her voice still rang through the air and Mori couldn't help but smile, his lips pulling up into a wide grin as he looked at her prance around in the water. Marianna stopped with a flourish and giggled as she watched Mori chuckle almost silently. His teeth glimmered in the light as he turned and looked away, ears red.
Marianna laughed and hooked her arm with his, "C'mon, we're going to be late for school and I still have to talk to the dean."
Mori looked at her questionably.
Marianna sighed as walked in rhythm of Mori's feet. "What we're learning this year, I learned last year. I was hoping there was a way I can move up."
Mori nodded and they walked silently for the rest of the way, Marianna chatting only when she thought of something funny.

They were about two blocks from the school when they happened across a man sitting in the shelter of a bus bench. The rain splattered against his legs, causing his pants to dampen. His teeth were chattering and his lips and face pale. Mori caught the glance Marianna gave him. He saw the furrowed brow and the slightest of frowns. She walked towards him and silently, handed her umbrella over. Nothing said, no questions asked, she just handed it over and smiled when he took it. Relief flashing through his eyes.
Marianna said something to him in a language that Mori did not understand and he could only assume it was Korean. The man certainly looked Korean.

Mori watched silently as the two talked and much to Mori's displeasure, Marianna suddenly left, without an umbrella, to a convenience store just across the street. Mori glanced to the man and made no sound. The man glanced to Mori and said, in choppy Japanese, "Your girlfriend kind soul. Cherish her well."
Mori nodded, agreeing silently and smiling when Marianna walked back over, her arms filled with water, vitamin c supplements, and bread.
Marianna kneeled in front of him and smiled, speaking in her native tongue before walking back towards Mori. The Korean man nodded in thanks and huddled under the umbrella with his food, hiding himself as much as he could.

Marianna hooked her arm back around Mori's, practically shaking from the cold air. Mori stopped and glanced down at her, her red nose catching his attention. It was cute.
Mori smiled softly and leaned down, picking the girl up as if she weighed nothing, with one arm, the other holding the umbrella. "You know Mori, I'm not going to complain because you're oddly warm." Marianna mumbled, her cold lips brushing against his neck. Mori chuckled and held her tighter, "You can call me Takashi, Marianna."

He didn't have to look at her to know the blood was rushing to her cheeks. He felt the heat against his neck and felt it ten fold when his own blush spread across his ears.

When Mori and Mariann walked onto school grounds they were rather late. Mori couldn't find it in himself to care as he carried the girl to the nurses office, umbrella dripping rain onto the polished tiles. The two, although shielded by the umbrella, were still drenched. Marianna because she decided to walk around without an umbrella and Mori because he was carrying her wet figure. The nurse quickly ushered the two in, handing them a heated blanket and telling them not to move as she emailed their respective teachers.
The heat of the blanket and the cold of Marianna caused Mori to shiver almost unnoticeable. Marianna noticed though. She wound the blanket tighter around him, her body practically disappearing in the mass that was Morinozuka Takashi and the electric blanket.
The nurse walked back in and smiled, "Your teachers are made aware of your situation and under my recommendation have advised you to stay here until lunch. That'll give the two of you enough time to dry off and warm up." She smiled, "I'm going to head to the cafeteria and heat up some tea for you two." She winked quite dramatically and grabbed her keys from the table, moving towards the door, shutting and locking it, her feet patterning away down the hall.

"Every teacher I've met here has been pretty odd." Marianna whispered, her body cuddling against the warmth surrounding her. A grunt came from above her and she looked up, catching a flush spread acrods Mori's neck and across his ears. "I'm sorry did I hurt you?" She asked, voice small.
Takashi chuckled and lifted the girl up into his lap, "No."

Marianna smiled and cuddled further into the warmth, not minding the silence that ensued after.

"What's your favorite color?" Marianna asked.

"Green."

Marianna giggled, "Green is my favorite color too. Favorite animal?"

"Dog."

"Mine is a dragon." Takashi chuckled at her answer and softly stroked her barely dry hair. He sat back against the wall and closed his eyes, barely catching the tune of the song Marianna was humming.
