MIKAYLA AND LUCAS MAVERICK were inseparable. You rarely saw one without the other being nearby. It had been this way there whole lives, ever since they were orphaned as infants. The twins had bounced from foster home to foster home, no one wanting to adopt them. Tired of feeling unwanted, they desired to get out of the system. So when they were only 8 years old, they started their life on the run. But much to their dismay, being on the run brought them unwanted attention from a dangerous group of people.
At the young age of 14, the Maverick twins mysteriously vanished without a trace. They miraculously resurfaced 3 years later, grown and mature, but also with no recollection of what happened the three years they were gone. Discovered and brought in by Nick Fury, Mikayla and Lucas became skilled and respected agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, a government peacekeeping organization. Now 20 years old, the twins have rose to the top of the ranks, unknowingly chosen to join a remarkable group of people in the Avengers Initiative.
With no memories of their true family, heritage, or past, Lucas and Mikayla always felt out of place, like they didn't belong. Because after all, how can you belong in a world that's not yours?
