"Y/N, over here!" Your friend, Mac, yells at you, snapping you back into reality. You were too busy watching the boys' soccer team practice. More specifically, Calum Hood. "Sorry." You say, kicking the ball to her. You're helping her practice for the soccer tryouts this week, but you can't seem to focus on anything but Calum. "Y/N, focus! Stop staring at Hood, and help me practice." You pretended to be offended. Mac rolls her eyes. You kick the ball back and forth for a while until mac decides to try something new. She tries to kick the ball into the goal from across the field but misses terribly and the ball rolls down the hill, into the woods. "I'll go get it." You volunteer. Mac waves as she takes a chug of her water. You run down the field to the edge where the hill is. You can see the ball from where you're standing, so at least it didn't go deep into the woods. You slowly edge yourself down the hill, careful not to put your foot on any unstable rocks. Just as you're about to reach the bottom, you trip over a huge rock and fall. You grab your ankle in pain and hold back a scream. You feel some scratches on your arms and legs, but nothing more than the pain in your ankle. You try to push yourself off the ground, but the second you stand up, your ankle gives out and you wince. Suddenly, you hear a crashing in the woods. You can't run, so you have no choice but to crawl. You crawl to a big rock and hide behind it, hoping that it wasn't a bear. "Damn it. Where's the ball?" Oh god. It's Calum. You crawl out from behind the rock and run the other way, but you stand on your bad foot without realizing it and yell. Calum looks at you. "Oh my god, are you okay?" He runs up to you and holds your arm to steady you. "Yeah, yeah. I just tripped on a rock and twisted my ankle. It's not a big deal." You try to act cool, but you can feel tears welling up in your eyes from the pain. "Here. Let me help." You feel Calum's arm wrap around your waist and he picks you up bridal style. You can feel your face heating up, but the pain in your ankle makes it irrelevant. Calum carries you back up the hill the way he came and carries you to the boys' field where they were practicing. "Oh, Calum. Picked yourself a girl on the way up?" One of his teammates punches his shoulder. You look at his face and see him blush. "Shut up, man. Just get the first aid kit from the locker room, would ya?" his friend runs off laughing. Calum sets you down on a bench and all the guys disperse and go back to practicing. Calum's friend comes back with the first aid kit and whispers something to him that you happen to hear. "Try not to mess up." His friend gives him a cheeky smile, then runs back to practice. "Sorry about them." Calum says, pulling out some cloth bandages. "Oh no. It's fine. I should be the one saying sorry for interrupting your practice." Calum smiles as you take your shoe off so he can wrap your ankle. "It's fine. I never got your name, though." "Y/N." "Pretty name." "Thanks." "I'm Calum." "Pretty name." Calum chuckles at this. You smile. You made him laugh. When Calum finishes wrapping your ankle and you have your shoe back on, he helps you stand up. "Thank you again. I'm really sorry for the trouble." You limp along with him walking beside you. "If you really want to make it up to me..." Calum stops walking and looks in your eyes. You don't know what's going until Calum's lips touch yours. When you separate, Calum is smiling like an idiot. "So, you free Saturday?" "Probably. What do you have planned?" You ask, realizing that you somehow managed to speak. "I have a game that day. I was wondering if maybe you could come. Maybe give me a kiss for good luck." He winks and you almost explode. "Well, if you kiss like that, I will definetly be at that game." You say, limping out to the field. You see Mac talking to some cutie in the center, giving her star smile. "Oh, there you are Y/N!" Mac hugs you tightly. "I was wondering where you went." When she sees Calum staring at you from the bench, she can tell where you've been. She smiles slyly. "I see you've been with Hood." She smirks as you both walk off the field. "Maybe." She nudges you side and laughs. "Looks like you're going to have to practice with me more." "Definetly." You smile. looking back at Calum.
