Evan and Jared had been dating for about a
month now, and Jared couldn't be happier.
But Evan hangs out with his friend Connor a lot. Jared thinks nothing of it. Until the petals start.
"I love you!" He called to Evan as he watched him slide out the door to meet with Connor. Evan didn't say anything back. Jared felt a pang of worry shoot through him. He feels sick. Really sick. "Shit." He got to the bathroom in time to throw up, "Petals? What?" Jared was beyond confused. Had he eaten flowers??? It was a stupid thought, but honestly he had no clue what else could be causing it. He sat on the floor absolutely dumbfounded. After about a minute of possible stupid solutions he decided to look it up.
"Hanahaki disease?"
"The Hanahaki Disease is an illness born from one-sided love, where the patient throws up and coughs of flower petals when they suffer from one-sided love. The infection can be removed through surgery, but the feelings disappear along with the petals.The victim's lungs get filled with the flowers and roots grow in their respiratory system. They choke on their own blood and petals, and die." Google stated.
One-sided love? But Jared was completely happy with-wait, the obvious explanation hit him like a fucking bus. Tears stung his eyes as he realized Evan always hanging out with Connor...... they were probably, no DEFINITELY more than friends. "What the hell do I do?" Jared searched his thoughts for ways to make this better. Nothing came to mind. But what could he do? If Evan loved Connor he was already too late. All he could do was sit helpless while Evan just... just. He couldn't think. He coughed again. More petals, and blood. This hurt him so much. He needed a way out of this.
