Choosing

Hiccup's POV

We entered the killing arena, it was dragon hunting and everyone was choosing their weapons, Astrid already had an Axe, the twins took a Mace, Fishlegs chose a bow and arrow as Snotlout had a spear, I was the only one with no weapon "Useless doesn't need a weapon, he can just be bait" Snotlout chuckled as I sighed "He needs a weapon, Hiccup pick" Gobber said, I looked at the swords and Gobber noticed "Sorry Hiccup, only the best worriers get a sword" Gobber said "Then why don't I have one" Snotlout asked "Do we really have to answer that" Astrid groaned, Gobber gave me one of every weapon but a sword and I tested them all but every time I would lose grip and be horrible at fighting but the teens laughed their butts off "Gobber, can I please try a sword?" I asked, Gobber sighed "Since that is the only weapon left, go ahead" Gobber said as I smiled "Oi, why does useless get to use a sword" Snotlout said "We don't know if he gets to use it, plus that's the only weapon left" Fishlegs said "and he probably just fail" Tuff said making the teens smirk. I looked at the swords and saw one that I made a day after Toothless spared my life, the handle had a Night Fury on it and it was black wood (Like the one above but with a night fury carved into the handle), "This one" I said as I picked it up, it was light but still heavy "Very well, Snotlout fight Hiccup" Gobber said as Snotlout nodded and smirked "Ooooh this is gonna be fun" he said as he held the spear and got into fight stance, I got into my fighting stance "Begin" Gobber yelled, I could see the twins hoping for me to get beaten up like before. As Snotlout ran to me I just stood there, when he came close I stepped to the side making him run into a wall. The teens gasped as Astrid smirked, Snotlout hissed "Now your dead" He said as he charged, I had my sword ready and Snotlout attacked I closed my eyes, I don't know what happened but when I opened my eyes Snotlout was on the floor, his spear broken in half I was in fighting stance, my sword out. I looked at Gobber and the teens and they looked shocked "Who knew that runt had that in him" Tuff whispered to Ruff as she nodded "Sword it is then" Gobber said as I smiled and tossed the sword back and forth from one hand to another

~ Time Skip ~

We were in the woods, my sword was on my back as I stayed back, I didn't want to hunt any dragons, "Get down" I heard Astrid whisper as we all listened, Gobber thought us what we needed and made Astrid leader, leaving us in the woods. We looked at what Astrid was looked at to see a Nadder "Come on Whisp, you can do it" I heard her say as we saw a baby dragon trying to fly "Okay, Tuff, Ruff you go behind it, Snotlout will go from the left, I'm from the front and Hiccup and Fish will attack from right" she said, 'that's a mother, she shouldn't be killed' I thought as we nodded and went to out places. Everyone started moving closer as I stayed still "I'm gonna regret this" I mumbled as I walked and pretended to trip making a thud, the Nadder looked up and saw me and Fish, she grabbed her baby and flew off I smiled and got up. "YOU IDIOT, WE LOST THE DRAGON" Astrid yelled as everyone looked mad, Fish didn't seem to care "DO SOMETHING RIGHT FOR A CHANCE" she yelled and walked off with everyone following her like lost puppies. I rolled my eyes and sighed, I sat down when I heard a noise behind me, I turned to see the Nadder and the baby, I smiled and got up "Hey their Whisp, I like your name" I said, Whisp gasped "How do you know my name" he asked "Because I can understand dragons, I don't know how but I can" I replied, the mother stepped up "Thank you for saving us, why did you save us young viking hatchling" she asked "Becasue, dragons have feelings, they have families and thinking of how Whisp would feel without a mom is horrible, and I know how it feels" I said as the mom smiled and nodded, she bowed then looked at me "Thank you, we would like to see you again, where can we see you?" she asked "Fly west (IDK where the cove was so I just said a randow direction, XD) and you will see a cove, in there, is my best friend Toothless a Night Fury, tell him I sent you and I will meet you there when I can" I said, she nodded picked up her baby and flew off "HICCUP YOU COMING" I heard Astrid yell "COMING" I said as I ran towards them
