They were so close. Their noses almost touching. They leaned in, lips almost connected. They smiled.

Then she screamed. She was fading, getting farther, farther. . .

"Jungkook!" she shrieked. "Jungkook! Save me!" But he was helpless. He was chained to an invisible force. "Jungkook-ah!"

"JAE-MI!" Jungkook awoke suddenly, with a throbbing heaadache. His breathing was labored. "Agh!" he said, letting go of the tightness in his chest. He looked around to take in his surroundings. He was on a couch. A comfy, beige couch and he was covered in a colorful quilt. He remembered earlier this morning.

Kim Jae Mi and him. They had kissed. It had been exhilarating. The feeling of her lips on his made him feel ecstatic, so happy, so thrilled. His heart was coming back to a normal pace.

Jungkook finally realized that he was on Jae-mi's couch. Then the delicate, dark-haired girl walked in, wearing nothing but a black sweatshirt that was way too big on her. His sweatshirt.

She gave him a cute smile. Jungkook could do nothing but melt at the sight of her rosy cheeks and happy grin.

"Good morning," she said. Jungkook's eyes widened and he found his voice.

"What? What time is it?!" he asked urgently. Jae-mi giggled and came to sit by him.

"It's okay, you were asleep for only an hour, it's 10:30," she said. Jungkook felt his muscles relax.

"Wha--what happened?" he asked sheepishly, trying to scoot closer to her without her noticing.

"Nothing," she said, her eyes big. Jungkook fiddled with the sweatshirt, she parted her lips in comprehension.

"Ah, well, when you, um, we, when we kissed, you, uh. . ." she blushed as her voice caught in her throat. Then Jungkook remembered what happened and all signs of his headache vanished.

~Flashback~

She grabbed Jungkook's arm, turned him around, put her hands on his neck, stood on her tiptoes and kissed him. At first Jungkook was surprised. He had been so sure she didn't like him in that way, and though it had made him want to scream in agony he didn't want Jae-mi to be uncomfortable or unhappy. Ever. But then he recovered from his surprise and kissed her back fiercely.

She tightened her arms around his shoulders and he wrapped his arms around the small of her back. Her small body fit perfectly into his bigger form. They couldn't help but smile as their lips danced. Jungkook was getting hotter and hotter by the second. He pulled his sweatshirt over his head, to reveal his No More Dream tank top.

Jungkook began walking forwards as he started trailing soft kisses down her neck. She was forced to move back until they reached a wall. He pushed her against it using his body as a barrier. Then he realized what he was doing. Jungkook pulled away. She opened her big, brown, doe eyes.

"I'm sorry Jae-mi, but if we don't stop now, I don't think I'll be able to help myself," he whispered in a raspy, quiet voice. Jae-mi blushed a deep red.

"It's okay, Kookie," she said. Her voice was so cute, Jungkook could barely keep himself from falling over. "Plus, you look like you could use a nap," she said with a puppy smile.

~End Flashback~

Jae-mi was staring at Jungkook's ear intently, absentmindedly playing with the hair on the back of his neck. Jungkook stared at her face. He felt something. He felt pain. In his heart. He remembered how Jae-mi had been pushed to the ground so violently at the airport. He remembered how his hyung had yelled at him.

Jungkook thought about how Yoongi hyung would react if Jungkook told him that he had kissed his sister. Tears were forming in Jungkook's eyes. Jae-mi noticed them instantaneously.

"Wae? Jungkook-ah," she said, hooking her arm into his and nuzzling his shoulder with her nose.

"I don't want you to get hurt. I don't want to hurt your brother," Jungkook said. Jae-mi looked at him and then fiddled with the mesh of his shirt.

"Oh," she muttered. Jungkook couldn't deal with her being sad. He hated when she pouted. When she cried, when she felt embarrassed or scared. He hated that. He put an arm around her shoulders and pulled her into his embrace. He rested his chin on her head. She adjusted herself so her face was tucked into the crook of his neck. Jungkook placed a hand on the back of her head, the way you would do for a baby and kissed her hair. She smelled like chocolate.

"I, I think I lo--" and then he was so rudely interrupted by his blaring ringtone.

"Aish! Chincha?" Jungkook mumbled as he pulled his phone from his pocket. Jae-mi hooked on to him tighter, her fingers grazing his bare skin, making him gasp slightly. But when he saw the contact name, he inhaled sharply. Though he pulled away, his arm was still firmly around Jae-mi's shoulders.

Yoongi hyung.
