Perfect Fit [hiatus]

The drive home was thick with tension. Jungkook was either pretending not to notice it or didn't seem to mind, but all Taehyung could think of was what Lisa told him back at the office.

" hey are you sure you're OK? What happened today with Lisa?"

" I told you it's nothing." He raised his voice at Jungkook, words sharp and piercing. Taehyung didn't mean to snap at Jungkook like that, and immediately regretted his harsh tone. Jungkook just stayed silent for a moment before opening his door and getting out of the car. Taehyung followed soon after closing the front door that Jungkook left open for him. He turned toward Taehyung as they met in the hallway near the kitchen and got up close enough to tae that he could see the worry circling in his eyes.

" I don't know if it's me you're upset with or what happened today after you left my office, but if I did something wrong please tell me. You're clearly upset about something and if it's not something I did it's at least something I can help with. What is it? What's wrong?"

Taehyung broke the eye contact to scratch the back of his neck, embarrassment coating his body in an uncomfortable heat. He really did feel ridiculous about how stressed out he was over nothing, but he couldn't help the discomfort that resided in the back of his mind. It was constantly humming in every thought reminding him that this lust they had was doomed. 

"Are you doubting this again or something? I really don't know what else to tell you we talked about it twice tae."

" Lisa mentioned some stuff about you today."

" Lisa? What did she say? Did she caused all of this?"

"No not at all actually. She was actually trying to convince me that we have here is something special. Something that would be good for both of us. She told me about your past with relationships and how the way we act around each other is something she hasn't seen before."

"So... she knows?"

"Yeah. I told her, is that okay?"

"I mean I trust her, I've known her-"

"Since you were kids yeah, she mentioned that."

Jungkook sighed and pulled Taehyung into a tight hug which he allowed himself to melt into.

"This is going to end badly kook. We both know that once the line is done, keeping us a secret is going to be harder because the press will wonder why we're still around each other when our contract is up. That's if we even last that long under the radar, you know how ruthless they can be in finding out information. If this gets out it could hurt your reputation and your line and I could never do that to you. Maybe it's best if I just stop working on this project altogether."

"No don't say that please. You're helping make this line better than I ever thought it could be. Your visions and ideas are remarkable and I'm lucky to have you as a part of my creative team as well as modelling the clothing. Taehyung I am so grateful for you in so many ways please don't let this come between us. Like Lisa said this could be good and it will be. I know it."

"How?"

"I just do. I haven't felt this good about anything or anyone in a long, long time."

Taehyung scoffed and made his way into the backyard for some fresh air. Jungkook followed him outside, not about to let him go that easily.

"That's not the point Jungkook. No matter how good you feel about something that doesn't change what could happen. How disastrous our involvement could be."

"Then we'll face it together. You can be scared and concerned, let ourself feel those things. Because we'll do it together. You think I'm not scared?" He placed his hands on Taehyungs shoulders and looked him in the eyes, faces inches apart.

"I'm terrified. But I look at you every day and know that it's worth the risk. Please, please tell me you're okay with that. Because it's all the reassurance I can give you right now. That no matter what I will have no regrets."

"You say that now but when something blows up..."

"IF something blows up, we deal with it then. But right now, I'm happy, I'm with you, and I'm ready. For this. For all of this." He motioned to taes body making the boy giggle.

"Okay, fine. We'll risk it."

The two shared a loving kiss, hands exploring each others bodies. The air around them was warm and the sun was dimming behind them. They were so caught up in each other they didn't hear the rustling in the bushes not far off of the property. Nor did they see the flash that followed it.
