Today was a big day and after a meeting with the pack and handling several things, I decided that before heading home, I wanted to go running through the woods and go to my favorite spot to relax. So I asked Jasper to pick up my sister from school as I headed off into the woods and went to my favorite spot that's by a cliff.

I just love hearing the crashing sounds from the waves hitting against the rocks below with the cool breeze blowing and the beautiful sunset.

Once I go there, I laid down and started to relax. I was there for a few hours and after noticing it was getting dark, I decided it was time to head on home. So I got up and took one final look at the sunset and then turned around to start running. However, something stopped me. The amazing smell of caramel and chocolate attacked my nose.

It smelled amazing and I needed to follow it to see who it was coming off of.

While running, I heard my wolf tell me that it was our mate. Which made me get excited as I always wanted to meet them while I was still young.

Once I got to where the scent had been coming from, I stopped when I saw the most beautiful girl I have ever seen.

She looked to be around my age with long curly dark blue hair, a tattoo on her right side inner wrist and a few wolves snarling at her while circling around like she's prey.

I immediately began growling and then sprinted over towards her and stopped in front of her while growling at the wolves.

"Back off!" I warn them.

"You! We found her first, your Heiness." One of the wolves remarked sarcastically with the last part.

"You all have two seconds to leave with all bones intact." I threaten.

"Fuck you, Alpha. You're not the king." Another wolf says.

I knew that they weren't gonna listen to me, so I took action and leaped towards the one in front of me. We rolled around and snapped at one another as his wolves then also began jumping on me biting my shoulder and all fighting me at once. Luckily it was only three.

In the end though, I of course won as I held the one wolf down that initiated the fight.

"Now leave! And if I ever see any of you assholes again on my territory, you will suffer greatly." I warn them.

They all start taking off growling in defeat and then I turn around to look at the girl. She's just standing there in the same spot she was, in shock.

I start walking up to her and as soon as I get a few feet away from her, I notice her start to back up a little bit, unsure and afraid.

I then go over towards behind a nearby tree to shift back into my wolf form and put on the pair of clothes that we all have buried all over these woods and then start walking out towards her again.

"H-hi. I'm Peter." I try and introduce myself as I slowly start walking towards her.

"I-i'm Rosemary." She replies.

My what a neat name. Matches her beauty.

"Hi Rosemary, it's nice to meet you. What are you doing here by yourself?" I asked her while stopping after I notice her looking a bit uncomfortable at how close I was getting to her.

"I got lost. I went for a walk down my usual path and then those wolves started chasing me and I don't know where I'm at." She says.

"Well, where do you live?" I asked her.

"Near Burroughsville." She says timidly.

"Oh, that isn't too far from here. If you want, I can help you get back onto the path that'll take you there." I offered.

She looks at me and smiles. "Thank you."

"You're welcome." I smile in return.

We start walking and I try and go at her speed as I know that no one is as fast as me really. It's difficult to be as fast as an Alpha.

While walking, I felt a little nervous about being next to her. Meanwhile, my wolf was excited and trying to get me to ask questions that I didn't want to ask right away.

"So," I began saying to avoid anymore awkwardness. "How old are you?"

"Nineteen. You" She asked.

"Same." I replied. "What do you like to do for fun?"

"Mostly reading." She replies in her soft gentle voice.

Reading? I thought maybe running or something that majority of wolves like to do. But okay, that's alright. We don't have to have everything in common. That'd be boring anyways.

"How about you?" She asks.

"I love running mostly."

"Yeah, you seem really good at it." She cracks a smile.

"Thanks." I chuckled.

"Do you mind if I ask you something?"

"Sure." She shrugged.

"Have you ever shifted before?"

"Huh?" She asks while stopping and looking at me questioningly.

"Well, the way you looked at me after I came out from behind the tree and how you reacted to me even when I was a wolf, it was almost as though you have never seen one before or something. And I'm sure by now you've already shifted so...." I began.

"I'm not a wolf." She says.

"You're not? But then how are we ma...." I stopped myself.

"I don't know what you're trying to say but I'm not a wolf and yes I have seen one before but I don't like wolves to be honest. Not after what they did to my sister." She says.

"I'm sorry." My heart broke immediately after hearing that.

"It's okay." She says while changing the subject. "I appreciate you helping me out back there. Not many would do so, especially for me." She says the last part under her breath.

"What do you mean?" I asked curiously.

"Well, I'm a witch." She replies.
