CHAPTER 21: Sophie

Both Jasper and I were having a nice little romantic picnic date and enjoying the beautiful sunny afternoon. We went to our favorite spot down by a nice lake where hardly anyone goes to and not many know about really. 

"I love you." He tells me. 

"I love you too." I smile at him while looking at him and feeding him a strawberry. 

"It feels really good to know that your father knows about us and hadn't killed me." He chuckles. 

"Well, not yet." I joke. 

We kiss each other on the lips for a moment before I sit in between his legs as he leans back up against a tree and has his arm around my waist.

We both lay there and my head is tilted back on his chest as I look up into his eyes. 

"I'm so lucky." He begins to tell me. 

"I know." I tease while we both chuckle and I then keep my head on his chest but we look out onto the water for a moment. 

"Sophie?" I hear him say. 

"Yeah?" I reply with a smile. 

"Can you...." He hesitantly began. 

"What babe?" I smile at him. 

"Can you please go turn on  some music from the car please?" He asks. 

"Yeah." I give him a quick kiss on the lips before getting up and walking over towards the car and finding a song on the MP3 player he has hooked up in his car. 

Then after finding a random song by NickelBack, I step out of the car and start walking back to him when I stop as I see him kneeling down on one knee looking nervous as hell and was holding a small box? Oh my god. 

I walk closer towards him and look down as he grabs my hand with his and looks me in the eyes. 

"Sophie, I love you more than anything in this world and after finding out that you were my mate. I became the happiest I've ever been in my entire life. I had always hoped you would be my mate because It would be hard for me to be with someone else that wasn't you. You make me laugh, call me out on my bullshit, are beautiful inside and out and very strong. I wan't to grow old with you and watch both our kids and our grand kids running around while you and I are sitting on a porch swing, drinking lemonade or tea or whatever you want. I want to give you everything you want and need. So please, will you do me the honor in letting me be your everything and you mine, forever?" He says. 

I can't think of anything to say and my vision is blurred from all the tears that have formed in my eyes from hearing him tell me all of that. I realize though that he has a worried look on his face because I haven't answered him yet. 

"Yes." I tell him with excitement. 

He takes the ring out of the box and places it onto my shaky hand and then stands up and wraps his arms around my waist and kisses me. 

We look at one another and place our foreheads against each other's and then suddenly, are interrupted by some rustling coming from all around us. So we prepared ourselves not knowing if it were rogues or what. 

However, we quickly found out that it was worse than wolves, it was a few warlocks. Not just any kind though, the kind that were into dark magic and could very easily kill us before we'd have a chance to shift and attack. Not that that stopped Jasper and I from quickly shifting into our wolves. 

"Wow, what cute little dogs." One of the warlock's said to us. 

Which you do NOT call wolves dogs, muts or any pet names. There's a difference. Jasper and I began to growl at all three of them as they smirked at us. 

"I think i'll take this one home with me." One of the other warlock's said as they started to come towards me. That's when Jasper leaped out and jumped on top of the warlock while growling and trying to bite him. But the other warlocks were able to force him off their guy with a quick whip of their hands and made Jasper hit a tree really hard. That's when I got even more pissed off and started running towards the first warlock that spoke to us. 

Although as soon as I got close enough to jump onto him, he quickly formed a ball of fire in the palm of his hands and then tossed me as well hard against the ground, causing me to land on something sharp. 

Everything from then on for the next half an hour felt like eternity of torture as both Jasper and I fought hard against these warlocks until finally, a pack of wolves that were nearby heard our yelps and came to our rescue, causing the warlocks to disappear. Not before warning us about my brother and his mate. The next thing I knew, is they all tried to take us back to the castle. 

When we got there, we collapsed onto the ground and right before Jasper and I blacked out, I heard a voice coming from the castle that I knew who it belonged to. The one that was responsible for this attack and for ruining my man's proposal. He was going to pay. 

I saw my mom and Peter kneel down beside us before I closed my eyes and everything became dark and silent.
