Rummaging through your toolbox, you bite down on your lip in thought of the tool needed to pull off this task. Finally, after many moments of sifting, you had pulled the small hand tool out with ease. You cross the small designated 'medical area' to the bench where two Androids sat, awaiting examination like the many others since the liberation early this morning. A small flashlight weighed in your hands as you flicked it on and held it up to one of the Androids face, "can you look into the light for me."
She obliged, many of the Androids adopted a certain appreciation for your time and efforts for their cause. Some took longer than others to be wooed by your presence.
"Perfect, well your pupils dilate correctly which is great and just on a visual examination I can see you're a little roughed up. Other than that you feel fine?" You smiled, a small head tilt to confirm your statement as a question.
"I feel fine, thank you..." she nodded her head in appreciation. Her Android companion seemed to feel the same, appreciative and grateful.
You picked up the tool you spent some time trying to find and held it up for them to see, "while I do usually advise that checkups are mandatory once you get here, this is completely optional. The removal of your LED's." The device that flickers on the sides of their heads seemed to prove more as a physically binding trait for some, others didn't mind it. Afterall now that Markus had come out to the world wanting freedom, there was no need to pose as Humans by removing the LED.
They sat and pondered for some time before nodding in sync.
"You two are welcome to do it yourselves if you don't feel comfortable with -" you had started, by now you'd checked over an array of Androids since this morning, this statement grew tiring for you to say. But it held so much importance. You were human, you didn't want to invalidate the Androids by being the one who fully liberated them. That wasn't your choice to make which is why you gave them that choice to do it themselves.
The two girls seemed to light up when given the choice, you could tell by their faces they'd want to do it themselves. You passed the blue haired woman the tool and stepped back, "it's noninvasive, all you need to do is put it in the center which will deactivate it and then it should fall out."
"Thank you... I had hoped all humans were like you... we both did." The blue haired one spoke, her past was a hidden mystery to you, as was her companions. You often didn't pry into the lives of the ones you helped, it wasn't your place to know now.
A smile tugged at your lips it truly was a wonder to you how you as a person seemed to be so interesting to Androids. "Being considerate and compassionate takes no effort... There is always time in the day to be nice to someone... i grew up with that logic. It's a pity no one else seemed to."
You were positive that there were at least a small margin of the population doing their darndest to keep Androids safe from harm, but a small margin wasn't enough. Majority always beats minority.
"Now, before you guys go ahead what are your names? I'm trying to keep an eye on all of you - and well, I don't think Markus wanted to do the bookwork." You lightened up the atmosphere in your quarters, a small chuckle passing your lips as well as the girls.
"Traci, our name is Traci."
Scribbling their names, the time and the date down you turned your back to let them be in their own company. So far you had at least a couple dozen more to check up on, but it appeared that Markus had other plans for you. His presence always seemed to have a remarkable sense of hope and lightness. Now was no exception to that.
"Y/n." The leader greeted, he gave a curt nod and kind smile to the Traci's before giving you his full attention. You gathered the papers in your hands and neatly piled them together on the makeshift counter.
