"what did you just say?" he lowers his voice looking at me confused. "wh-"

"no, what did you just say?" he starts to stutter and my heart starts to break just seeing him. "daughter, cody, i said daughter..." i reply, my voice giving up and only allowing a tone somewhat higher than a whisper.

hearing those words, his face falls completely. he slowly, sits in on of the chairs, looking down and putting his head in his hands. although, he wasn't crying, i know him well enough to know he was edging to his breaking point and i was trying my best to keep myself contained so that he could follow. but that didn't last for long.

"you were pregnant?" cody whispers, his voice sounding shaky. i nod and realize he couldn't see me before letting out a croak 'yes'. the lump in my throat built up and i knew that i wasn't going to stay strong for too long. it was impossible.

i was so overcome with emotions, that there was no way, i was going to be able to keep myself composed.

seeing him in the state he was, even without seeing his face, and being able to tell what emotions he had going on, really did hurt me. the tears started to flow and they seemed endless. i just looked straight ahead at him, quietly. almost observing. not wanting to inch closer to him because i knew it would be so ignorant for me to try and console him, while being the cause of his pain.

for an instant, i heard a couple sniffles coming from his direction, and then the room became quiet again. his leg started to bounce up and down, and i stared confused.

i was still crying, and no matter how much i tried to wipe my eyes, the tears still came down.

i was so tired trying to stop my tears from falling, and cursing myself out in my mind, that i was completely caught off guard when cody stood up and made his way to the door.

i was confused, and shocked, so i quickly jolted to run after him. "cody." i called, as he opened the door. "cody, where are you going?" my voice rose, and the concern grew in me. i tried to grab his arm, but he shook my grip off him. "cody!!" i shout, sobbing as he picks up his pace, and leaves me in the hallway, looking like a mess. seeing him exit, and leave towards the parking lot, broke my heart.

i didn't know what to do. i didn't know what to think. i didn't know where to go. i was a wreck. a total blowout mess.

"brie, oh my god. what's wrong?" i hear a woman's voice call out behind me. i didn't bother to turn around. all i wanted to do was just fall to my knees, and let every single tear pour out.

"brie, talk to me. what happened!" i finally see that it was mariana all along, as she steps in front of me, scanning my face concerned. "we heard shouting, and i seen you and cody— please tell me what happened." she tries to comfort me.

i could hear footsteps behind us, and i see nicole along with suzanna come to my side. "brie, babe. what happened?" suzanna looks at me shocked. i stay silent for a couple seconds, continuing to look ahead as my vision turned blurry.

"he hates me." i sob and they all immediately look at me confused. mariana pulls me into a tight hug, as nicole and suzanna rub my back, concerned.

"i hurt him, and now he hates me..." i repeat, falling into mariana's tight grasp.

"hey girls, do you know why cod—" chris stops himself as he sees me in mariana's arms, and his eyes immediately widen.

"damn it, damn it, damn it." he runs back out through the double doors and into the parking lot.
