Pairing: Harper Miller-Johnson/Dominic Johnson

Note: This takes place after the story ended and after they got married.
If you chose Dominic that is.

When Harper heard the doorknob turn, her stomach dropped. Her husband texted her that he was on his way home and he was going to step through that door any moment.

"Honey?" She heard him say as he flicked on the lights finding her sitting in front of the television that's playing a sports game she wasn't even watching. "What were you doing in the dark?" She heard him walk to the kitchen and set a couple of paper bags on the table, food she presumed. Sometimes, when she had to finish a chapter on a deadline and he had to do extra hours at work, they were both too tired to make dinner at the end of the day. So he buys takeout at their favorite Korean restaurant down the street.

The best thing about her husband is that he loves everything she loves. She loves Korean food, he loves Korean food. She loves horror films, he loves horror films. They even drank their coffee the same, dark with two and half teaspoons of sugar. It wasn't hard to envision spending the rest of her life with him when they were still dating.

"Just thinking." Harper answered.

Dominic appeared beside her, already holding two plates of black bean noddles. "Bad day?" He asked, setting the plates on the coffee table before sitting down beside her. He started to massage her shoulders and she immediately relaxed against him.

Typical Dominic. He was always trying to take care of her even if he was equally exhausted. Running an architectural firm was all work and no play, yet he is still willing to serve his wife in his own little way whenever he comes home. "I made the deadline." She sighed, closing her eyes.

"But?"

"I'm pregnant." Harper blurted out and his hands froze on her shoulders. She immediately turned to face him and took his hands in hers, afraid to look him in the eye. "I know we talked about having kids later but this is happening now Dom." Taking a deep breath, she summoned the courage to look at him. He was looking down, face hidden behind his growing bangs. "Hon?"

"We're going to have a baby..." He murmured as his shoulders began to shake. Harper held his head and tilted it up to make him look at her and there were tears running down his face with a smile so precious that it warmed her to her core. "Oh Harper." He then threw his long arms around her and pulled her into a crushing embrace. "This is the best news ever I am so happy why would you think that I would be unhappy about this having a baby is wonderful I don't care if we still don't have a house we'll make it work you just made me the happiest man on the planet I promise to be the best dad ever I am going to make the two of you so happy..." He blabbered on and Harper let a long sigh of relief as she wrapped her arms around him in return.

They've only been married for less than a year and they talked about starting a family later, probably three to five years down the line. After Dominic's firm gets more clients and is more established, after Harper publishes the first book of her new series, after they get a new house, after they saved up more money...They had a lot of plans before having a child. But that all changed after a moment of weakness one morning when they went at it on their kitchen counter.

It was now a month after that happened and when she missed her period, she knew immediately that she was pregnant. Earlier that day after Dominic left for work, she purchased a pregnancy test at a nearby pharmacy which only confirmed what she already knew. She was going to be mother. They were going to be parents. She was filled with happiness she never knew she was capable of feeling.

But then she started to think of how her husband would react. Would he be happy? Worried? Angry? She pictured his reaction all day and the closer it got to the time he comes home, the more anxious she got.

Now, she told him and he was crying tears of joy over the news.

"I'm sorry..." He croaked as he pulled away. "I got a little emotional."

"A little?" And they laughed at that.

"Eat." Dominic said as he reached for the plate of noodles and handing it to her. "You should eat a lot, you can have mine if you want it. Or I can cook you something else if you want something else to eat. I'll buy more food..."

"Relax Hon..." Harper said as she took the plate from him. "This will do just fine."

Dominic then leaned in to give her a kiss on her forehead and Harper let out a sigh of contentment, both of them looking forward for the next chapter of their lives together.
