Hans' funeral was full. He was truly an amazing person and I felt bad for his death. I couldn't even bring my self to greet Frans or Anna. Guilt was written all over my face.
Kali too was at the funeral and he felt obliged to be by my side.
"Are you okay ? Is there something you need ?" He asked me now and then.
" I'm okay thanks. "After the funeral I went home. Sponsor jumped up in my arms and we cuddled. It was a long day.
##################
"I am home! " Simata announced from downstairs.
My blood started to boil, hearing his voice. I could hear his footsteps rushing up the stairs. He swung my door open.
"Hi honey! Wake up already! today is going to be a busy day. We have things to do. " Simata said
"Please leave me alone. I need all the sleep I can get. Can't you see I just lost my cousin? Have you no sympathy ?? " I said, sympathetically.
"Oh please Lorraine stop it! We all know you aren't really at loss here. Now get up! " Simata said.
Spensor purred , scared when Simata yelled. I patted her to calm her down. I rolled out of bed. Simata left and I went to my bathroom to wash my face and brush my teeth.
Before I could get downstairs, I heard the monsters Hauling and I froze half way through the staircase. I went back up to shut them up. They hauled again before I reached their room.Shortly after I got to their room, Simata came in behind me.
Oh snap!
"Did you hear that sound? I heard something hauling up here." Simata said.
"I didn't hear anything" I said
"Well I know I clearly heard something Lorraine so don't mess with me. What do you have in here? Where did that noise come from?" Simata said pacing around the room, and he stopped at the window pane, clenching his fists on the window bars.
Right now I was praying those monsters sit tight and not make a sound because I was doomed if Simata finds out about them. I am not sure what he could do to me but worse scenario, he would kill me. He would see me as a threat and eliminate me. I wouldn't want any of that to happen.
"Maybe it's the dogs in the streets or something or maybe it was the television but I swear I have no idea what you are talking about." I said calmly.
"Don't fucking screw with me Lorraine! I heard something hauling so don't try to... "
Then the door bell rang.
Saved by the bell! I thought.
We froze and both looked at the door, I guess all of us weren't expecting anyone. Simata looked at me suspiciously and rushed out the door hoping to meet whoever is knocking, before me.
I followed him downstairs and shouted "coming!" As the door bell rang again.
He opened the door.
Sharon walked in.
"Hi sis, I didn't think you had company." She said awkwardly as she saw Simata.
"Hi Sis! No it's okay, Simata will excuse us. " I said.
"This must be Sharon, Lorraine has told me so much about you. Pleasure to meet you. " Siamata said ridiculously.
Sharon looked at me, then to Simata.
"Sorry you are ?? " Sharon asked, puzzled.
"Oh where are my manners?! I'm Simata Matengu, Lorraine's business partner. " Simata said , extending his hand to Sharon for a handshake. Sharon shook his hand, still puzzled. She looked at me again and I knew I had questions to answer.
