Always | Ashton Irwin

Chapter four.

The next morning I woke up with my head against Ashton’s chest and it literally was the best feeling ever. I still couldn’t believe he was actually here, I had missed him so much. For a little while I just listened to his heartbeat and enjoyed his warmth. One of his arms was wrapped around me and my skin burned where mine touched his. We always slept like this when we had sleepovers but this morning it felt different. It was a good different but it was also confusing because I didn’t know what this feeling meant.

‘’Good morning Ali,’ a sleepy voice whispered in my ear.

I turned around to face him.

‘Morning sleepyhead!’

Ashton’s eyes were still closed but he smiled and pulled me closer to him.

‘Did you sleep well?’ I asked him while I couldn’t look away from his face. 

Even when he just woke up he looked beautiful. Wait, what? Did I just think he was beautiful? Oh crap. 

‘It has been a long time since I slept as good as last night,’ he buried his face in the crook of my neck.

‘Same,’ I giggled as his breath tickled against the skin in my neck.

We laid like this for a few minutes and I almost fell asleep again, but Michael decided to ruin this moment as he fell, yes he fell, through my door.

‘Good morning, lovies!’ He greeted us from the ground. 

Ashton rolled away from me and I couldn’t help but feel cold as soon as his touch left my body. I sighed and got up as well. Michael was still on my bedroom floor, his green hair was a mess but his smile made up for it. His smile was so big I was afraid his lips would burst. He jumped up and tackled me in a hug.

‘Michael!’ His name only came out half because when his body land on mine he crashed my longs for a moment.

He moved his body weight and giggled. Ashton just stood there laughing at us before disappearing through my door to go to the bathroom.

‘Was that really necessary?’ I asked my green haired friend. 

He nodded happily like a little child  and before I could react he started tickling me. I immediately started laughing. 

‘MICHAEL STOP IT!’ I screamed while I tried to push him off of me. 

‘DR FLUKE IS COMING TO SAVE YOU!’ Luke yelled when he ran into my room. 

I was laughing so hard, I had trouble breathing and tears were running down my cheeks.

‘He-ee-elp,’ I cried from laughter.

Luke jumped on Michael and together they rolled over the floor ‘Don’t you dare touch her Mike-rowave!’ 

‘What the hell is going on here?’ 

Ashton stood against my doorframe with a amused look on his face. It probably looked very funny cause I could see he tried his best not to laugh. I could see why he found it so amusing. I was rolling over the floor, laughing, with tears and Luke and Michael were also rolling over the floor, fighting about who was the better superhero. Yeah I have weird friends, but I loved moments like this, they were the best. When I finally stopped laughing Ash offered me his hand and pulled me on my feet. 

‘Do you want to come with me to see my family?’

I nodded ‘Yeah sure!’

I loved his family and his mom always took care of me like I was her own daughter, she really helped me in the time I lost my mom and whenever I needed some motherly advice I would go to her.

He smiled ‘Cool, now I don’t know about you guys but I’m starving! What about some breakfast?’

As soon as Michael and Luke heard the word breakfast they jumped of the floor and ran past us to go downstairs. I giggled, took Ash his hand in mine and together we walked down the stairs. My dad was sitting at the kitchen table with a newspaper, his glasses were balancing on his nose and he looked up when we came in.

‘Good morning,’ he greeted us. 

‘Morning Daddy’ I let go of Ash’s hand to kiss my father on his cheek.

‘There are pancakes in the kitchen if you like,’ he smiled. 

Oh so that was where Luke and Michael were. I looked at Ashton and as if we could read each other’s mind we ran to the kitchen.

‘Ali, these pancakes are delicious,’ Michael said with his mouth full.

To my surprise they didn’t eat everything, normally all my food would be gone before I could even think about eating it. I grabbed two plates and handed one of them to Ashton.

‘So what are we going to do today?’ Luke asked when we finished our breakfast.

‘Well I think you guys need to go see your families first don’t you think? I mean I love to hang out with you guys but it would be really selfish right now cause your family missed you too.’ 

They all smiled and nodded ‘Okay, but we’ll see you after right?’ Michael asked.

‘Of course, maybe we can go to the beach? It’s freaking hot and we can also get those ice creams you guys like so much!’ 

Luke cheered ‘I love your ideas Ali!’ 

I grinned and looked at my watch ‘Well let’s go then!’ 

Luke and Michael borrowed my car and we agreed to meet each other at the beach in two hours. Ashton and I decided to walk to his house since he was living only two blocks away from me. His mother was working in the garden when we walked into his backyard. 

‘Ashton, my boy!’ 

She dropped the flowers she was holding and rushed towards us to take her son into her arms. I watched how Ash wrapped his arms around his mom and said some sweet words to her to calm her down. She had tears in her eyes and looked at him with so much love. 

‘Ashton!’ two voices squealed. 

His sister Lauren and his brother Harry came running out of the house with big smiles on their faces. Ash opened his arms for them and without hesitation they jumped in his arms.

‘Come here Ali!’ his mom said with a smile while holding her hand out for me.

I took it and a few seconds later I found myself in a group hug with the Irwins.
