When the bell rang, dismissing us to lunch, I head to my locker and grab my water and apple. I meet up with Oakleigh at her locker. We don't eat in the cafeteria, we eat and Oaklieigh's or my locker.
"How was last night?" Oakleigh asked, referring to my parents.
"Umm.. my dad came home in his usual state and started to yell for me. I put Damian in the closet and went downstairs and he kicked me in the shin. Then he sat down and I snuck out to get Damian and I food." I explained, opening my water and taking a bite of my apple.
From the corner of my eye, I saw the same five guys I saw this morning walk around the corner. I train my attention on Oakleigh instead and continue to eat my apple, trying not to pay too much attention to the boys.
"Are you still hungry? I can get you more food." Oakleigh says.
"I'm fine." I say, then my stomach grumbles loudly.
"Archer." She spoke in an angry calm voice.
"Did you even eat last night?" She said a little too loud. I look away from her.
"I gave it to Damian... But I ate this morning!" I add the last part in hopes that she won't lighten up.
"Come on, you are getting food!" She practically yells causing the boys at the corner to look at us. I keep my gaze adverted as Oakleigh reaches into her locker.
"You know, you should really keep it down." I mumble out to her but she ignores and keeps digging through her bag. She hands me a sandwich and a bag of chips from her backpacks.
My eyes light up. I'm so hungry.
"Why don't you and Damian eat before you get home? He's growing too." She says.
We stop talking when we hear footsteps approaching us. I look over and see the five boys in front of us.
"Are you Archer Crandall?" The tall boy with brown hair asks. I slowly nod.
"Hi!  I'm Jonah and these dorks are my bandmates." He says. I look at him with a confused expression.
"Bandmates?" I question.
"Yeah, we are in a band called 'Why Don't We.'" the blond headed boy says.
"Hi?" I say still confused why they walked up to us.
"Why don't you tell her your names." Jonah says, turning to the other boys.
"I'm Corbyn." the blonde boy says.
"I'm Daniel." the boy with brown hair and blue, blue eyes says.
"I'm Zach." the brown headed boy with rosy cheeks says.
"I'm Jack." the last boy with curly hair says. (Haha, his hair looks like noodles)
"This is Oakleigh, my best friend. Quick question... what are y'all doing here?" I ask and they smile at my confusion.
"Principal Murry wanted us to meet you. You have to go to his office at the end of the day, after the last bell." Zach says. I lift an eyebrow, I wonder why the principal needs me.
"Can Oakleigh come?" I ask, nervously. I don't really want to be alone with the principal and five guys I don't know.
"I'm afraid not, Ms. Crandall." a voice says from behind the boys, Principal Murry.
