Meanwhile, back at Heights Alliance, a few of the girls from class 1-A were in the common room gossiping about their friends and what the evening would entail for the both of them.

"Ohhhh, I wonder what they're talking about right now," Mina said, with excitement.

"Probably how much they looooove each other!" exclaimed Toru.

"Come on you guys," said Momo, "there's absolutely no way. Knowing Uraraka she might not even confess."

"Aw, what? That'd be so lame! Especially after all the hard work we put into setting it up. How rude of her to let that go to waste." Mina pouted.

"Ok look, it's not like she asked us to do anything!" Momo said, "whatever happens, promise me you won't give her a hard time about it?"

Both girls went silent for a moment, reluctant to revoke that right.

"Promise, me!"

"Yah, ok. We promise," said Toru and Mina in unison.

They hadn't noticed till now, but Bakugou was making his way over from the elevators.

"The hell are you shit nerds still doing here?!?" he said, "I thought you were going out."

"Yah well, turns out everyone who failed the practical is on house arrest," explained Mina.

He paused for a moment, debating whether or not he should take more interest.

"... You don't seem very bummed," he said with curiosity; scowl never faltering.

The girls looked up, trying to figure out a way they could explain that wouldn't give too much away.

"Why do you even care?" asked Mina.

"Care? Don't fucking flatter yourself. I'm just surprised. Usually when things don't go your way you whine like a little bitch," he finished.

"Do NOT!" said Mina.

Bakugou enjoyed getting a reaction out of her.

"Hey, where's round face?" he noticed.

Shit! The girls thought. Looks like the cats out of the bag now.

"She's out..." Momo started, "...with Midoriya."

Bakugou looked more surprised then the girls thought he would. But then that moment passed, once he managed to put the puzzle pieces together.

"Don't tell me you set this whole thing up just to get the two of them on a date together?" he asked, sounding unimpressed, "only you would do something so annoying."

"Whaaa?" said Toru, shocked, "How did you figure that out so easily?!"

The girls figured they shouldn't be too surprised. He was one of the smartest students in their class after all. When he wasn't yelling at everyone, their classmates had been beginning to notice how perceptive Bakugou actually was.

"Why do you look so surprised?!" he hollered, "even an idiot could have figured it out!!"

The girls stared up at him blankly. As if to say, care to explain?

"Geez! You really expected me to believe DEKU would have arranged it?!? That wannabe loser??" he said. "Honestly, how dense do you think I am? He can't even spit out two words to that girl without having a heart attack. It's pathetic!! "

"You mean to tell me, you think Midoriya likes her back?!" Toru asked with excitement.

Bakugou looked like he was about to barf.

"Well, duh!"

The girls all cheered and giggled.

"Oh my god, SHUT UP! In case you forgot we're all here because we're trying to become heroes!! The fact that you're all wasting your time with this bullshit is not even lame it's just stupid!! You better tell those morons the same thing when they get back or else all your dreams are going down the fucking toilet. You GOT THAT?!"

Mina and Toru looked down in defeat, but Momo wasn't buying it. She may not be as perceptive as Bakugou but she was smart enough to know that he was acting out of character.

"Now that doesn't sound like you at all Bakugou. Normally I'd expect you to welcome any sort of distraction that might hold Midoriya back. Seems like the perfect opportunity for you to get ahead," Momo paused, "Don't tell me you're actually jealous."

Bakugou looked like she had just picked a fight.

"Me? Jealous of Deku?! You've gotta be fucking kidding me!"

The girls could have sworn they saw steam coming out of his ears. They knew nothing made Bakugou angrier than someone suggesting he was inferior to Izuku.

"Well, you can't deny this date might give him more experience with girls than you've ever had!"

Momo looked like she was enjoying getting under Bakugou's skin but the other girls were getting nervous.

"You think your such a smart ass!? Did it ever occur to you that maybe I don't fucking give a shit about getting anywhere with girls!!" he said.

After he spoke something changed inside Bakugou. It was hard to tell through the persona he always keeps up but the girls could have sworn he looked kind of... upset? Like what they said was sort of a touchy subject. Was he upset about never having a girlfriend? Momo thought.

"Fuck you guys, I'm going to bed." He finished.

He walked over to the kitchen, filled a glass with water and made his way back to the elevator.

"Hey wait! I'm sorry," Momo called after him.

Bakugou never broke pace. Just before he could get inside the elevator she caught up to him.

"Look, I was only teasing you. So what if you don't have experience with girls, there's so much time to-"

"Weren't you fucking listening!?" he spat, "I told you I don't give a shit about that stuff!"

Momo was at a loss.

"Then what's wrong?" she asked.

The elevator door opened and Bakugou stepped in.

"Goodnight." He said coldly before the door closed, separating them.

Momo trudged back to the girls and collapsed down on the couch; a heavy sigh escaped her lips.

"Geez, what was that all about?" Mina scoffed, clearly thinking Bakugou was being overdramatic, "Maybe if he wasn't such a jerk all the time he'd have better luck getting a girlfriend."

"I don't know guys, didn't you feel like something else was bothering him? I think what we said might have struck a nerve. He seemed upset," said Momo.

"Oh please, you're reading to much into it. That's just Bakugou for you, he's always upset about something," said Toru.

"Yah...maybe."

Author's Note:

Hi anyone that's actually reading this.  I decided to add a sort of side plot that will come up every few chapters just to keep things interesting. Although, it may have just been because I really wanted to try writing something with Bakugou (he's my favorite). I'm sorry if he's a bit out of character though. It's difficult to write him having any sort of emotion (other than anger) while still having it be believable.  Anyways, thanks again for reading this and please comment if you have any suggestions for how I can make it better. This is my first fic so I know I've got room for improvement :)
