I'm surrounded by darkness, not a single beam of light fills my vision.

I try to sit up but my whole body is paralysed which is all it takes to send me into a panic, trying with all my might to move so much as an inch but with no success. And that voice is all it takes for me to comply with being frozen still.

"Winter." His voice booms from nowhere I can put my finger on.

"I'm coming for you Winter." The voice continues, followed by a deep, evil laugh which fills me with fear.

All of a sudden his voice is all around me, coming from every angle, chanting my name and laughing hysterically.

Tears stream down my face as I try desperately to block the voices out but to no avail, it's as if his voice is inside my head, stopping me from blocking it.

But they all stop as soon as a hand rests on my cheek, electric waves course through my veins from the contact which make my eyes shoot open and into a pair of golden ones.

That's when I wake up and notice I'm in my room.

"It was just a nightmare." I whisper to myself, trying to slow my pounding heart to a healthy rate.

As I manage to get out of bed and make my way downstairs to the kitchen, all I can see are those golden eyes which have captivated my mind.

I was so engrossed in those beautiful eyes that I didn't realise that my mum was right in front of me until my face smacked into her back.

She shot around to face me, clutching her hand to her chest. "Goodness Winter, you just about gave me a heart attack." She says with a chuckle and I sheepishly grin at her.

"Sorry Mum, I wasn't looking at where I was going." I giggle to which she only rolls her eyes with a smile before walking the rest of the way with me to the kitchen.

"So," She starts and I give her my full attention. "Myself and your dad have to go to the pack house in a minute for boring business reasons, they need to discuss some things with us blah blah blah, anyway, Jared and Billy won't be here until after we leave since they're still training but you won't be alone for too long." She explains before setting a plate of pancakes in front of me and immediately the fear of being alone for those few minutes vanishes and I dig in.

I was so into the pancakes that I didn't realise my dad had entered the kitchen until a kiss was placed against my temple making me jump and almost choke.

"Easy there tiger, you act like we don't feed you often enough." He chuckles and I grin, cheeks full of pancake before continuing with my wonderful meal.

"We should leave now my love." He says to my mum and she nods before hesitantly walking towards the door, stopping half way.

"You gonna be okay on your own for a few minutes petal?" She says, almost begging me with her eyes to say no so that she has a reason to stay and look after me.

"I'll be fine, they won't take too long since we all know the alpha would throttle them if they take forever to get here." I giggle and she only replies with a sigh, going the rest of the way to the door where my dad is stood already.

"Love you guys!" I shout to them as they go to leave which they return just as loud.

Turning back to my now empty plate, I let out a sigh into the silent house and wash it up before heading upstairs to my bathroom for a well needed shower.

Something smells off but I think nothing of it as I pick out my outfit for the day and head into my bathroom and showering last nights nightmare away.

Hopping out and drying myself off, I get dressed and clean my teeth, humming to myself to try and fill some of the deathly silence.

Entering my room again I see my window open and frown. I don't recall opening that.

Not allowing my paranoia to get the best of me, I walk over and shut the window which is letting the cold air in and causing me to shiver.

I walk to my bedroom door to go and wait for the boys in the living room but as soon as my hand touches the door handle, a cloth is slapped over my mouth from behind and a chemical scent fills my nose. I thrash about to the best of my ability and even try to shift and let Kat at them, but tiredness hits me like a ton of bricks and all I want in this moment is to fall asleep.

"That's it doll, close your eyes." I hear just before the blackness takes over.
