"Friends come and go, like the waves of the ocean but the true one stays like an octopus on your face" -The internet

"What are you doing!" Delilah yelled trying to push Eva off Marie.

Eva finally stopped choking her after noticing the crowd forming just watching these ladies fight.

This is kind of dumb but again this is our society we don't stop people from fighting anymore, we watch them and enjoy them while they were killing each other in front of our eyes.

"This is for my brother" Eva spat and slapped her violent.

She got out my car, looked at us and smiled at her brother. She was glad because he was safe.

She quickly looked back her expression changed, the sweet innocent smile is now turned into a scowl. It was anger, pain, and betrayal written all over her face and it was a sign that she wasn't done with her.

"I trusted you to help my brother not to make it worse" She yelled angrily.

She finally left with a satisfied smile after planting another slap in Marie's face. The crowd now disappeared.

"That was fun but who turned that girl into a super badass," Katy said with her eyes widened.

What is happening to us? we're breaking apart. First Juvan and Marie now Eva and Marie but It's always Marie.

"Ask her," I said with a smirk pointing at the girl who is now laying in my car tired after getting choked and violently slapped numerous time.

Her nose is bleeding she stuck my tissues in her nose, her neck was dark red from the choking earlier.

I glared at Ramos as a sign to use his healing touch to fix her up. He groaned but didn't say no. He entered my car and closed his eyes. He started with her neck.

After healing her nose he jumped out of the car and headed to the cafe following Juvan and Eva. Marie finally got up and looked at me in horror.

"how are you? can you walk?" I said trying to help her to stand but she slapped my hand.

Katy was really annoyed, I can hear her groaning from my back.

"This is why we don't like you" Katy grumbled and left probably heading to the cafe.

"she always says something like that but she didn't mean it"I assured.

"It's okay" she muttered and stood up getting ready to leave.

"Hey, you don't want your powers back?" I blurted but then realized what I said
"power" I corrected.

She stopped and looked at me
"You're giving it back?" she asked weakly looking at me in disbelief. Her innocent look and voice were making me feel guilty for laughing when Eva slapped her.

"Of course, it isn't mine to take"I reassured with a smile.

"Delilah go to the cafe, tell them to wait for me because Marie and I are going to have a chat," I said with a playful smile.

She mumbled 'finally' and left.

"Let's go," I said motioning her to follow. She nodded in agreement and followed me

I finally reached our spot behind the two big rocks and sat down on the sand. I patted on the sand motioning her to sit next to me. She nodded and sat.

I let my eyes closed end listened to waves for minutes and thinking about how to talk to her without being mean.

"Can you see the waves?" I asked pointing at the tidal waves next to us that was visible through the rocks "it's crashing at the beach non-stop sometimes it gets bigger and sometimes it's getting smaller but it never stopped" I said.

"unless its tsunami but that doesn't count"I joked with a little smile and I saw a hint of amusement in her face.

"You see Marie life is just like the waves sometimes its hits harder and sometimes it's not but we get through it, we always do because life goes on Marie but it's up to us whether you want to sit in the corner, watch it pass you by or live your life without doing something stupid or wasting it," I said and sucked oxygen to continue

"Our friendship. Our weird mer-friendship is just like the waves because we are different. Like the tidal waves and small waves. We are seven people that are six attitudes to deal with for god sake! Make your self the sand, the sand that has to deal with six type of waves. Have you ever seen the sand running away from the waves?" I asked, I know it's a stupid metaphor but I use it anyway.
She shook her head as a no.

"Patience. Patience that was the thing made me get through everything without doing something stupid. I had to deal with my alcoholic father, my sick sister and my over happy mother who is on happy pills just to deal with my father and sister without having a break down" I wiped my tears and continued again.

"We are all different. Our difference is what made us one, but we do know that we are not that different. We share the same secret, we share the same pool and the same sea. Our secret is what made our friendship stronger. Yes, I admit it sometimes it's hard to deal with them but I get through it, Katy gets through it with her jokes and sarcasm. I know I am not perfect, I have my flaws but I never snap at them nor use my powers on them" she was sniffing at this point but I wasn't ready to stop.

"just please think about it, we are going through the same thing. We just need to work together to make it work. We have to at least get through our high school years without exposing our secret. But if we keep fighting like this I'd say one week give or take for the whole world to find out about mermaids and merman from Swan City. What we have is so great, you don't want to lose it do you?" I asked finally looking up after looking at the ground and playing with the sand this whole time. She shooked her head furiously, now her tears have dried.

"So I'm giving back your powers, I don't want to tell you to use it carefully and bla bla bla because you're not a child but.. your actions says otherwise, so please don't play with your powers and mainly don't use it on people. Please promise me I'm begging you" I said giving her puppy dog eyes.

"Okay I promise, but using it for defending myself does not count," she said looking at me for an agreement. I quickly nodded.

"Okay give me your hand"  she gave me a weird look.

"you want your power back don't you" I teased. She held out her hands and I touched it. I closed my eyes and focused on one thing, her power. I felt something heavy lifted off my chest then I let go of her hand. I got up and brushed the sand off my clothes.

"Thank you. thank you for the speech I needed it" she gave me a warm smile.

"glad to help you," I said shaking her hand as if we just made a business deal.

"and Marie you know you can talk to me about everything, I will keep it a secret if you want to, "I said concerned thinking about her word 'using it for defending myself does not count'.

she nodded again.

"so you have something to say to me?" I said closing my left eyes as the evening sun hits me.

"I'm a-i'm-im" she stuttered and bit her bottom lip stopping herself from spilling the beans, yep she's hiding something "Again Thank you, it's getting late. I'm going home" she quickly and took off before I try to stop her. She yelled a goodbye and disappeared from my sight.

I sighed in relief, talking to her wasn't easy but I did it anyway. I scratched my head still confused about why she disappeared like that.

I made my way to the cafe and quickly entered the. I found Katy sleeping, her head on the table and the others were... let's just say they were all sleeping.
