You and Jerry were hooked up by the one and only Anne. She referred to you two as the "match made in heaven." You did have to admit that Jerry was gentleman. And a damn good hard worker. Jerry earns what he works for and he's very persistent and actually likes to learn. You loved getting to know him and now y'all are in a few month relationship. You pass by the barn everyday after school to say hey to him and maybe bring him a snack or two.
But today was different and might be a challenge to uh.. visit with him. Mr. Phillips paired you and Gilbert Blythe to be partners in this project and you two planned to work on it at your house. Not a lot of kids knew about Jerry but Gilbert Blythe did and he also respected your relationship. He would never try to do anything with you like that or to anyone if they were in a relationship. Although Jerry doesn't quite understand because.. school and his work kind of separates us, he trusts me when I'm at school.
"Alright the project is due tomorrow. If it is incomplete, it's and automatic zero. No ifs or buts."
Everyone packed up their stuff and started to head out the door.
"Ugh. Ready to finish this dreadful project?" You asked Gilbert.
"I guess so. But we're making it better than Anne's. It has to be better than hers."
"I'm glad I have s competitive partner." You laughed.
The walk was filled with small talk until you got to the barn to see Jerry.
You and Gilbert entered the barn.
"Jerry? Are you here?" You asked looking around.
"Yes, I'm coming my love." As he said climbing down the ladder.
"How was you da-" Jerry paused in sight of Gilbert.
"Um.. I think you should get going."
"Who? Me or her?" Gilbert asked.
"Both of you. Nice to see you."
"woah woah woah. Jerry. It's not what it looks like."
"Oh really?"
"Um yeah. Gilbert is my partner for this school project. Did you think we were-" you asked stepping closer to him.
"Gilbert can you give us a minute."
"Sure man." Gilbert said walking out.
"Jerry, what the heck? Why are you getting so heated?"
"Because how do you expect me to react when you show up to see me, your boyfriend, with another boy.. his more attractive and smarter than I am." He said. The last part he mumbled.
"You are irreplaceable, babe. I love you for you and I would never cheat on you. I'm yours babe. I'm not going anywhere. You're the most attractive guy I know. And who said you were dumb?" You asked rubbing his arm.
"Look it doesn't matter Y/N. I love you and I just don't wanna lose you, okay? Make sure he doesn't try to pull anything. Promise?"
"I promise Jerry. Gilbert is not like that. You have nothing to worry about." You said kissing him on the cheek.
