Percy

The hardest thing in Jason's funeral was to try not break down in front of everybody.

I cannot crumble in front of them when Piper, along with Leo and the rest of the Seven (now Six) with Thalia, Reyna and Nico clearly needed my support.

I met briefly with Reyna. She too had her Poker Face, but her red rimmed eyes betrayed her. Her new magical prosthetic limb that was a gift from her older sister Hylla, the queen of the Amazons, was cleverly hidden with her jeans and the Mist. She walked normally. One wouldn't think that she had a missing if Reyna didn't tell him.

Everything passed as a blur. Once the funeral was over, I mist/vapor traveled (whatever the hell you want to call it) to Montauk Beach. According to Nick, this was the place where Mom met my dad, Poseidon. Uncle Nick even told me that they had their own cabin, which after the passing of my mother was now mine.

I thought about all the people that died.

First, my mother who died while saving my life.

Second, Bianca Di Angelo, who sacrificed herself so we could come out in one piece in our fight with one of Hephaestus automatons, Talos. And let's not forget Zoe Nightshade, who died at the hands of her own father, the titan Atlas.

Third, there was Daedalus who gave his life so that the labyrinth may be destroyed. And Castor, twin brother of Pollux and son of Dionysus, who was killed during the battle of the labyrinth.

Fourth, there was Charles Beckendorf who sacrificed himself by bombing the Princess Andromeda, killing in the process a bunch of other young demigods. Silena Beauregard, his girlfriend, also died in the battle along with her half-brother Beaufort, Lee Fletcher, the son of Apollo and numerous other half-bloods not counting the Hunters of Artemis.

The list of the people who died during my life goes on and on. How many more demigods will die because of the gods stupidity? No wonder why Luke grew bitter.

My eyesight grew blurry, and I felt wetness on my cheeks.

I shook my head to dispel those somber thoughts.

I walked along the beach while thinking about Melinda. I haven't seen her since The Battle of New York. Ever since Phil...

I had a weird feeling, a feeling that I didn't notice until now. How in the name of the motherfucking didn't I notice it before?

I swear I felt the feeling of Phil Coulson's soul depart his body after Loki stabbed him. Why do I feel that he is alive?

There's only six beings who can explain the situation to me. And I doubt that the Three Fates, along with Hades/Pluto and Thanatos will want to tell me.

So that means there is one person left: Nick Fury.

I was comfortably sitting behind the mahogany wooden desk in the director's office, waiting for the man to come in so I could start my interrogation. I will wait all day if I had to. Screw my ADHD!

After an hour of spinning the chair with my leg while sitting on the desk and snooping around the office (I deactivated the alarms. He should really change the password) and throwing knives at wall, the man finally came in his office while rubbing his forehead tiredly.

"So... your talk with the World Security Council didn't go well, I presume" I said.

In a blink of an eye, he had his pistol pointed at me. His whole demeanor changed when he noticed that it was just me. He put away his pistol and sat on his chair, shoulders slumped. He was used to me sneaking into his office ever since I was a kid.
